Moddbox sells a reasonably priced supercharger kit that can get you roughly 80 or so HP. But, as has been said already, you would get better performance doing a V-8 swap on it. And for less money. I like my little 4.0, but it doesn't get my pulse going like it's big brothers would.

I guess it all depends on what you want to do with the car, what your skill level is and now much you can comfortably spend. The moddbox kit doesn't require a ton of skill. Honestly the V-8 swap doesn't either, it just takes a lot more time and work. Aftermarket for the 4.0 is almost nonexistent too. Good luck finding a good performance cam for it. A tune will be probably needed in order to get the most out of any mods, so factor that in as an additional cost.

Just buy this and swap everything out.

If you do all this maintenance and the cars runs well, it'll probably go another 75-100K

Years ago I had an all stock '98 GT that I drove 365/year and at around 110K I had the entire suspension redone including tie rods. I drove it almost another 50K before selling it to buy an '05 Mustang GT. Anyway, I was floored by the difference. It was almost like I had a new car. Best car I ever owned.

What did you do to have it "redone"? Did you replace everything with new or just replace the things that wear out?

I had regular run of the mill replacement shocks and struts (monroe matics I think) put in, new FRPP front control arms with bushings, new rear box controls arms. If had a bushing that bushing got replaced. And tie rod ends. Figured I had it that far apart may as well change them too.
