Just picked up a 2008 GT manual coupe with 135k miles. It’s in decent shape but needed some TLC. Shocks, struts, sway bar links and bushings, tie rod ends for sure. I’ve already swapped out all the suspension parts. I also got 7 of the 8 spark plugs changed but I broke one and am waiting on a Lisle tool to be delivered. I was surprised I only broke one. I used Sea Foam Deep Creep and it really worked. The one that broke snapped with almost no torque. These were obviously the originals with over 135k miles.

Even after spending $500 for parts I still have less than $6k into it. It’ll be my commuter so I can keep miles off my Ram CTD.

This is my third mustang. I had a 2000 GT and a 1991 5.0 with a Vortec SC. Both have been long gone from me for years.

Lots of great info here. I look forward to learning and sharing.

Thanks guys. Sorry if this was the wrong forum area. I read the threads linked above.

My main point was to share my experience with the plug change with over 135k miles on the factory ones. Only broke one. Soooo close!

The car ran amazingly smooth even with worn out plugs. I’m still waiting on changing that 8th plug before I can fire it up again. Maybe it’ll run even better.

I also have a trans fluid leak that I’m going to have to deal with. I can’t tell exactly where it’s coming from. I first thought it was the tail seal but after cleaning it up it may be coming from up higher (shifter shaft???). I’m going to drive it a little and the look again since it’s all clean and hopefully I’ll be able to tell where the leak is. I can tell it’s been leaking for a long time. I did add a quart of fluid to get it back up to the proper level until I get it fixed.

Either way I love wrenching and tinkering so other than the cost of parts I’m out nothing but some time and cus words.

Thanks guys. I’ve already read many threads and learned a lot. This seems to be a very informative place.
