Hi, sorry if this has been covered but I’m navigating the site from my phone and I can’t seem to find a search function or post on the subject. I have 4 18x10 American muscle fr500’s. I’d like to know if I can run them as a square set on my 07gt? Also what tire sizes may work and will I need to do any modifications? My suspension is stock... I was thinking of running 295/45/18’s in back and I’m hoping the 18x10’s will work in the front but I have no idea what tire to run up front. Any advice or pictures of similar setups would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunately, AM doesn't feel they need to provide any offset information or any real help for those who want to run 10" wide wheels up front. All they say about the 18x10 FR500 wheels is "rear only" and something about front fender rubbing while turning. Not very helpful unless you're simply willing to take their word for it.

Unofficially, I think 18x10 wheels need to have offsets at about +42 in order to run them at all four corners. Too much more puts the front tires into the strut, too much less pokes the rear tires outside the sheetmetal.

Believe Norm is correct on offset, not sure on AM but I know the 18x10 Roush wheel has a 45mm offset and works on all 4 corners. Roush puts a 275/40/18 Cooper RS3 tire on it. Mickey Thompson Street Comp is basically the same tire (made by cooper) but cheaper in price.

I'm running AM 18x10 AMR wheels all around on my '13, with front 285/40/18s and rear 305/40/18s.
I think they're 42mm offset, and I'm running a small spacer in the front, about 4-5mm thick.

The 18x10 FR500 wheels are a deep-dish design, they won't fit on the front of a Brembo car.
They also probably won't fit on the front of a regular-brake '05-'14 due to caliper interference.
The AMR's fit because they're a much more flat-face design, so the spokes clear.

My two sets of of 18x10s fit one is 42mm and the other 45mm. With 285s being the widest I have ran on all 4 corners I had 2 credit cars width away from the tires. Might need a slight spacer in the front if you do not know the offset. Call AM or chat with them about the offset.

Yes I believe I screwed up big time buying these. It was a tough situation, I really didn’t have much choice at the time(long story). I was told it has been done before by their staff but from what I see the offset is like 24mm which is a far cry from 45mm... Now I guess I’ll habe to figure out what the heck to do with them!

If the offset is 24 then I'm pretty sure that those are for the 94-04 cars

Yes, that's an SN95/New Edge offset. Maybe Fox as well.

The S197 doesn't need a +24 offset up front until the wheels are something like 12" wide and you're running 305-wide tires. Out back, inside clearance never needs such a small +offset to be used.

Hmm, I just looked up the wheel on americanmuscle and clicked on the specs. I’ll have to check again.

The specs are molded-in onto the back of a wheel spoke. I would check the wheels in your possession instead of whatever AM might have listed on their website

Alrighty, I’ll have to dig them out of the corner and check them. Thanks for the info!

If the wheel mfr uses the same basic mold for a variety of offsets and finish-machines them to spec, offset information might be stamped rather than cast/molded.

For what it's worth I use Enkei PF01 18" wheels, +47 on all 4 corners with BFG 315 Rival-S tires. But to do this I had to have two steering limiters put in up front and go to Cortex coilovers. These don't stick out, so looks ok.

Do you or anyone else know how the AM 18x10 AMR dark stainless wheels will fit on a '06? They are listed as +45mm offset. The car will be fitted will the 4piston front Brembo off a 13' which is on the way to me now. Looks like I may just need a thin spacer?
Bought the car with mismatched sized wheels with 2 practically new 275/40r18 Mickey thompson street comp which I want to retain for my new wheel set. Would like to have 18x10 275 all the way around.

For what it's worth, 275/40-19 on all 4 corners fit on my AMR 19x10. Rims were spec'd at "rear use only".
Looks like the 19x10 has +48mm offset, slightly more than the 18x10 that's also spec'd for rear use only. So I should be able to put them in all 4 corners without issues

I am running 18x10 GT4 wheels from AM on mine with 275 Nittos. No clearance issue. They are quite similar to the FR500’s and are listed as “rear only”as well

A 3mm bigger +offset means 3mm less strut side clearance. You may or may not need a thin spacer for this reason. Exact as-installed tire section width may be more critical than the wheel itself.

Not all wheel spoke contours will work with 4-piston Brembos, and AM is getting around not talking about this by specifying "rear only", whether or not these wheels might actually work up front as well. I'm talking about the back sides of the spokes potentially interfering with the bulkier Brembo calipers because of their outboard pistons. I have no idea if this can be solved with a spacer, or how thick it might have to be. But spacers that are thick enough might well require upgrading the front wheel studs to longer and stronger studs in order to maintain sufficient lugnut thread engagement (you want at least ten full turns on the Mustang's 1/2-20 stud thread). ARP is the go-to name here.
