Thanks ExSRT8. I really would like to produce them in some form or fashion. It's just so costly to do it on your own. A large company could do it but the timming may be a little to late. Still, I know there's a market for them.

Ken, thanks for the info. I forgot Saleen had the custom rear bumper and trunk/fender pieces. They look good just not retro. I also liked the Cervini Shelby/Cougar looking tail lights.

I’m not gonna lie, these are the coolest taillights I’ve seen yet for the S197.

I think an LED array would be perfect though for something like this and it would greatly simplify the assy with regards to manufacturing costs I’d think.

Maybe some type of LED board, similar to the S550 tail lights? If you could mount a flat board just behind your lens, in theory, it would simplify assembly. Either way, I'd buy a set.

It all sounds so simple. And yes I also wanted to do LEDs but couldn't find what I was l[king for at the time. I like all the suggestions made by everyone who has chimed in lately. A flat type panel with LEDs behind the lens would solve or simplify one issue but the biggest issue is mounting. I would love to talk about it more but I only have internet on my phone and it gets old real fast trying to write a few sentences let alone a bunch of paragraph's. A real conversation is what needs to take place hear. My rhumbs

Have you looked into possibly using the factory assemblies as a starting point? Perhaps utilizing the rear portion as a base to build upon therefore having the mounting problem solved.

2015-02-04_16-57-18_305-2.jpg If you look real close, I made the metal backing plate that the taillights are mounted to, is formed to match the curvature of the trunk lid. The stock taillights are not. Even if you cut or took off the red lens portion of it it would be flat compared to the trunk lid. I don't think it would make it much easier.
