Subscribed. I am going to want to upgrade my calipers on my roushcharged 07 gt. My power and braking dont seem well balanced.

I bought the S550 4 pistons also. Even with light grinding, couldn't
get them to fit with my wheels unless I used at least a 3/8 spacer.

They stick out a good 1/4 inch more (vs WMS) than the Chinese castings
(never did measure the Ford Brembos).

Yep exact same issue I ran into. Now granted I am running S550 wheels which have weird backspacing/offset, but I only had to run a 7 or 8mm spacer to clear the Brembos with them. The S550 calipers were going to require, as you said, 3/8" or 1/2" spacers to clear and I didn't want to install longer studs so I abandoned that idea. With the Brembos I just ran ET (extended thread) style lugs and it all works just fine.

Same here, ended up with 8 mm spacer using stock Brembos and chinese bullet wheels.
At least a spacer that thin still gets you the ability to be hub centric and keep stock studs (wheel dependent somewhat I guess).

The S550 rotor face seems set much farther in, vs WMS, than S197's. I also found it interesting that Ford used the same size master cyl for 2 piston GT, 4 piston S197, and 4 Piston S550 calipers. The difference is piston area of 2 piston GT's vs S550 4 piston is huge.

From what I saw, S550 wheels have a 3/4" taller "hat" in the middle of the rotor. I never checked whether or not the wheel offset was the same or not, but because of that the rotor sits further back in and the bigger calipers fit without issue.

Nice. I found some nice GT500 takeoffs that are in the mail now. Ordering pads from Vorshlag soon.
