4,225 LBS!

That's with a full tank of gas. Toss in weight of driver / pass / junk in trunk.... and then it's a bunch more. No wonder it comes with 16" brakes/ more hp / wider tires. What's next, a small school bus + 2k hp + 16" wide rims ?

Close to 300 lbs heavier than a ZL1 camaro...

And with that price, looks like I'll be missing out on the last stand for factory gasoline performance from Ford.

Back in 2009, I paid $30k CDN for my GT and GT500's were mid 50's. Today I can get a fairly bare bones GT for $37K CDN locally, while the GT500 will be $100K.
It's great that these "muscle cars" are getting as fast as they are but the price on the top models just seems to get exponentially higher and higher just to give you a more and more sterile experience.

I drove a GT350R recently, it pushed the right buttons, that's for sure. I definitely wouldn't bother with a 500 since you can get a beater gt350 down in the 30's now!! It's great!

yeah i'm 6'3" 200ish and am too fat. I should be 170 so things will line up. I could see myself dropping cash on one, they will make an epic winter car.

Without a manual option available, I wouldn't be interested anyhow. I'd rather get the GT350 that can still be had in a 6 speed manual that weighs in under 4000 lbs. that won't cost you over 100k+ as the GT500 will after the stealerships add their ADM's. IMHO the GT350 clearly offers the best performance value for your dollar over the upcoming GT500 along with the all new 2020, mid-engine Corvette that can be had between 65k-70k for a base model.

Needs to cycle out to the farm and back a few times. Lose a bunch of weight, reduce your carbon footprint, vote green. Epic road trip. Sorta like Easy Rider....in slo-mo.

And that's for the base model so the fully optioned version will be even heavier.
Despite that, it's estimated to do the 1/4 mile in about 10.8 @ 132.
I'd expect a Dynojet chassis dyno to show in the region of 690rwhp, which would put the drivetrain loss at just under 10% if Ford's claimed 760hp is to be believed.

Automatics typ have 20% drivetrain losses. It's gonna require one helluva tranny cooler.

It's not your Oldsmobile's automatic.
Hell, it's not an automatic at all.
It's a dual-clutch automated manual transmission.
It can shift in as little as 80 milliseconds
