Is the BAP over heating? At home you might try a hair drier to test it or a heat gun. How do all the wire ends look? Any insulation look like it's distorted like it may have gotten hot?

Just a few thoughts.

All the wiring looks good, I've done wiggle tests on all the connections I could find.
I checked the fuse under the hood, that's a few inches away from the battery, part of the S&H wiring upgrade.
Found it not blown but cracked and with a black spot on the metal?????
Replaced it and the car was OK for a few days but then it did it again.

I will try heating up the BAP and see if that causes anything.

The fuse I found:

The cracked plastic has no bearing on the performance and I don't think the black spot will have any effect either. If it did it would have blown by now. They are either good or not.
