thank you but it is a little more involved thaan that. The seats out and the sides, and speakers. The top motor makes a relay sound but that is it. Tested for power at the connector yellow and red wires, and there is power there but the motor makes no sound. My brother thinks there must be a micro switch that is not allowing it to run. I am prettty certain that is not it, but I would love it if I solve it as I have to drive to work tommorrow. Hats and gloves style with no backseat!! Any ideas?

OK so I am still without an operational top. Still scratching my head over this one. It appears the hydraulic pump has two hot wires going to it but no ground. The unit is totally isolated with rubber bushings so it is not getting ground by touching the metal. Where is it getting ground to operate? At the relay? The relays make a clicking sound when top button is pressed but no motor sound. Can a relay make a clicking sound and still be bad? Also, the pump has a metal button on the end of one of the blocks attached to the pump. Is this a reset of some sort or is it to be depressed to equal the fluids once it is bleed?
Thanks for sharing your insight. Topless in Atlanta.

OK so I tested the voltage at the motor/pump and I am getting 8.3 volts, not 12V like youd expect. The top won't lift the top with only 8.3V. Any ideas why?

I would take the battery out and then hook it direct to the motor/pump. This will get your top up at least. Then you can spend some time and trouble shoot.

I don't have a manual handy but does the top wiring go through the SJB? If you can check all the wires for resistance that would be a start. I would just wire up a new relay and power source. I'm about to do this for my horn as I can't figure out why it won't work.

OK Thanks, So I disconnected the battery and tried the roof again and it worked. I initially investigated the whole system because it wouldn't go up or even make a sound except for the relays. I analyzed every connection and that is where we found out it is only sending 8.3V. So now it is working but I don't know when it may not work. I am sure it will be when it starts raining and I can't get it up. So I will then have to pull over and disconnect the battery or take out the entire rear seat and trim and take the torx screws out of the lift pistons and manually close the top.
The power doesn't go thru the SJB, I believe just the ground which is why the top has two power leads and no ground to it. It is triggered thru the SJB. If that makes sense.
My last resort is to take the SJB out and check for corrosion. Ill do that this weekend. Thanks for your ideas.

Well if the relays are clicking your getting a signal from the SJB, I was wondering about the actual power for the pump but it sounds like you had a different issue. Good luck.
