Had an interesting problem this afternoon. Car is a 2006 GT with a Roush 2300 VMP kit, headers and cams and I'm running a VMP tune. I thought I heard some pinging when I got on it in 3rd gear earlier. It was hard to tell if it was just exhaust/shifter rattle noise, but thinking maybe I got some bad gas I reflashed the tune and lowered the WOT Spark by 2 degrees on the X3. I restarted the car and when I went to take it for a test drive, the PATS light would come on and throw a P0607 code anytime it went over 2200 rpms. It actually wouldn't let me drive it over 2200 rpms. I tried reflashing it several times. I also returned it to stock and then reflashed it but the issue persisted. Then I tried another tune from another company I had and the issue disappeared. I then reflashed it with the VMP tune, but did not change the WOT Spark table and instead changed the global spark table and the PATS and P0607 code issue went away. So long story short, it looks like if I try to adjust the WOT Spark table on the handheld it causes issues or maybe is corrupting the tune? I noticed on the other company's tune there is no WOT Spark table under the adjustment options. Has anyone seen similar issues? Sorry for the lengthy post but just looking for thoughts or ideas. I appreciate any input. I will probably contact VMP tomorrow though.
