Walked by it.
As of a couple days ago it's now on life support. The batteries on both cars are hooked up to the battery tender and they're just sitting in the garage.
The snow blower is now ready for work.

Fuck. I decided to take the car to work this morning because temps were actually in the mid 40's so not blue-ass cold. Go to get it out of the garage and the battery is deader than dead, like it won't even unlock the doors or turn on the interior lights. God dammit. It only sat for a week and 4 days!
How old is your battery? if you use OEM motorcraft batteries as I do, mine don't last any longer than 3 years and that's with keeping it on a battery tender when not in use. Anyhow just saying.

Usually I just disconnect the battery if I know it's going to be sitting for more than a week, this time I didn't for some reason. Got enough charge on it last night to drive it today...likely the last time of the season considering it's supposed to rain and snow tomorrow. Gonna give it a wash before it gets tucked away.
I recently had an Interstate Battery only a year old go bad, bought it from a local service station, took it in thinking it would be prorated and I'd get some cash off, owner took the old one out and put a new one in for zero charge. Sometimes pays off to pay a little more to support the local guys.

Honestly, I can't remember. Probably 3-4 years old at this point. I'm sure it's getting near due for a replacement, I noticed it even cranking a little slow when I was driving the car daily or almost daily.

If you start noticing slow cranking? then yes, it's getting nearly due for a replacement. Mine are completely done after 3 years and that's with keeping a battery tender on them when not in use. When they become fully discharged, they're deader than a door nail, as none of the interior lights come on along with being unable to unlock the doors with the keyfob.

Well I bought a DSS 1-piece driveshaft yesterday. Now I just need to get a clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and clutch line.

For the 3650? I haven't installed mine yet Im excited to see the benefits

Yes, I still have the stock 5 speed. Figured if I'm dropping the transmission to do the clutch I might as well put on a 1-piece driveshaft, the original has 100K on it anyway.

It'll be awhile. Probably won't end up doing the whole job until late winter or early spring, not sure yet.

Received this today for the wife's Shelby.
It's so beautiful, it's almost a shame to hide it with a transmission, lol

S197Forum-ers:

Nothing major but finally eliminated a squeak in the rear. Pretty audible in the cabin but not so audible outside. Tracked it down to the urethane bushings of the swaybar endlinks (FRPP s/b installed a while ago) at the sway bar end. I had greased them when I installed the swaybar but there wasn't one spec of SuperLube on the bushing. Unfortunately, there's no grease fitting on the endlink for the bushing. I have to investigate adding a zerk fitting to each aluminum endlink.

It is so nice to have a squeak-free Mustang again. :D

Since we are having unseasonably warm weather this week (60-ish degrees) I drug my car out this morning and drove it to work, probably the last drive of the year.

Throwout bearing sounds terrible, definitely glad I'm doing the clutch over the winter.

Just replaced the TOB and clutch in my daughters '05.
It wasn't long from onset of sounding terrible to not working at all.
Thankfully, it completely failed in the driveway and didn't leave anyone stranded.
