The headers look good. I did my '07 1 3/4 ARHs on jack stans by my self and only took me IIRR 5 hrs. with replacing the motor mounts. Now the '11 was a different story. that was 8 hrs on a lift with a friend helping. Good luck.

The rear pattern, as you say is good specially with a spool. The ring gear could be a little closer to the pinion.

I finally got the rear end back together, I forgot how much of a PITA that is! I mean I remembered that it sucks, but I guess I forgot how much! In any case one of the reasons that it sucked so bad is I tried just about every combo possible trying to get a good pattern. Pinion shims from .010 - .030 in .002 - .003 increments and backlash shims, at the end of the day I ended using the same combo that it had previously, so I guess that's a good thing, I did it right last time. I test drove it tonight and while it's still not perfect, it is definitely a lot better than it was. This is the final pattern, and the best it would get, which is of course not perfect, but it is as good as it will get in my housing:

So now onto the next project, installing these! 1 7/8" ARH w/ 3.5" collectors and 3" X pipe:

These are definitely visibly much larger than my Kooks 1 3/4" mid-length. I know installing these has potential to suck really bad, but heck it can't be as bad as the rear end that I just did right lol. Maybe I'll dive into it this weekend, we shall see. Then after I get the headers and x pipe in, I'll need to figure out how to connect them to the existing Magnaflow 3" OTA tail pipes that I've been running. ARH sent a couple 3" sleeves, worst case I'll get to practice my tig welding skills again.
I had the 2.5" part removed and 3" welded to my OTA pipes.

Good luck with the install!

Thanks, I didn't realize spools were different to set up. Backlash is at .009, I didn't want to tighten it up any more than that.

Thanks, so I was able to spend a little time on it today, about 3 hours. I ended up getting the new headers installed and pretty much everything back together under the hood, now I just need to work on the X pipe and connection to the OTA pipes. I definately had to install spacers too, otherwise the headers would have been sitting on the A-arm on the DS, and probably the steering shaft too. Over all it wasn't too bad at all, here's some pics:

It's amazing my car ran as good as it did with those tiny headers!

Spacer: One spacer is OEM height, I added a second one to clear on the DS. Yes I have to get longer bolts LOL

Next is the X pipe and connection to the 3" OTA.

Awesome they fit that well
Sorry to derail but I tried searching and wanted to get more info on your crank case vents on the valve covers

Looking good, I do like there headers. Is that the trans cooler lines next to the headers in your last pic?

I finished it up today and started it, really didn't sound much different. I didn't drive it though, maybe it will be different when I drive it.

Those are -12an lines (alum. bungs welded to the valve covers) vented to catch cans under the fender. I found that made a difference and helped prevent valve seals from leaking oil into the cylinder and oiling the plugs.

Yes it is, OEM lines at that point.

So I finished the install today, mostly. I ended up having to cut about a foot off my OTA pipes and welded new slip fittings into them.

Other than that, I ran into a snag where the SC pulley was hitting the hood since I raised the motor a bit, luckily the hood has two layers so I cut out the bottom layer so it would clear for now. I've been really wanting to get a CF pin on hood, this might just give me a reason lol.

It didn't sound much different, maybe even slightly quieter, to my surprise. It was lean when idling, I'll have to ask Manuel to take a look. Otherwise, overall, the install wasn't too bad. Now I just need to tweak some of the wiring inside the car, since the wideband sensors are about a foot further back now, I need to make some slack for those wires. And also probably adjust the pinion angle again, since I raised the motor I'm sure that's off now.

Install a smaller pulley (more boost) so you don't have to cut a hole in the hood.....Lol

Yea I thought of that too LOL! I happen to have one sitting on the shelf also.. hehe a 3.85", running a 4.0" now, the problem is I'm already over spinning the SC by about 5,000 rpm, if I swap for a smaller pulley it will be even worse!

Well I guess my OCD got the best of me, after a few weeks it ate away at me that I had to raise my motor that 1/2" to clear the new headers, which then caused the SC to rub the hood and that whole chain reaction. So I decided to "massage" one of the header tubes with a torch and BFH over the weekend so it would clear the front A-Arm enough to remove the 1/2" spacers. It aint pretty but it clears now, just barely

And my motor mounts are back to stock height, yeah.

Next I'm looking into a CF hood, maybe a feathercarbon pin on, if I can get them to return my call lol. Otherwise I'm still waiting for the weather to cool off, it's still in the 90's here daily. Also considering down sizing to a D1SC blower so I can be legal to compete in NMRA Limited Street next year, if I can still run in the 8's with one of those blowers, I would actually be competitive. I hate to spend money on a smaller blower, but that's the only heads-up class I can actually run in and be half way competitive. We shall see, it's either that or go with a bigger blower and see how fast I can go lol

I'm not sure on the convertor yet, still waiting for the weather to cool off here so I can do some real testing, DA is still over 2500' daily and I'm pretty much at sea level 90+ degrees. I have a ton of passes on the 4r70 trans, many 9 second passes and a few 8 second passes and many spirited street miles. The only problem I ever had was a bent input shaft, which kicked a bushing out of place and caused me to have to send it back to FB to be fixed and replaced the input shaft with a 300M piece, while they had it they freshened everything else up too. I'm very satisfied with the trans over all. It does have just about every upgrade that FB offers.

If finally cooled off here enough for me to take my car out for a cruise then bring it up on the trans-brake to test out the stall rpm, which was disappointing, since the cooler weather had little affect on the stall speed, but much worse than that, after throttling it back down and releasing the brake, it didn't want to idle anytime it was in gear, didn't matter forward, reverse, etc. soon as I drop it into gear the car would jerk hard then stall. Turns out the convertor failed! WTF! I guess the lock up clutches inside somehow got permanently locked, I dropped the tranny again yesterday and swapped my old convertor back in and everything works perfectly. My faith in Protorque is rapidly declining. Not to mention I called and emailed them a couple times last week while troubleshooting this and they have yet to respond. I'm just glad it didn't screw anything else up in the tranny, the fluid had a slightly burned smell, but I dropped the pan and everything was clean, etc. so I just replaced the filter and new fluid and everything is good again. I can say though there is a very noticeable difference with my old convertor back in, it's sloppy and unresponsive compared to the Protorque unit, when it was actually working.

You need Circle D in your life

Funny you mention that, in a recent discussion with FB, Fred recommended them too! I just don't get it though, Protorque builds convertors for some of the fastest cars in the world, why can't they build a good one for my slow shit!
