Hi all. On Ebay they are selling these Flash-2-Pass garage door openers for about $75. It is mounted close to either headlight and taps into the high beam wire. To open or close your garage door you just momentarily pull up on your turn signal lever to the flash to pass. I have a visor home link coming from Ebay and plan on programming the remote and taping down the button then mounting it close to one headlight and tapping into the high beam wire. Tired of the remote falling off the visor and don't want to mess with the wiring inside to hook it up. Was wondering if anyone else has done this. I have a 06 base.

I've used the Flash-2-Pass, system on my last two motorcycles. Works fine, it comes with it's own receiver that gets wired in parallel with the manual garage button. Two quick flashes of the high beam to open or close the garage door. I went to the system because I lost two remotes somewhere on the road, when they fall off your bike they're gone.

I just added 12" of wire and push button switch to my garage remote and mounted the switch in my dash next to the headlights and mounted the garage remote under the dash...works great and only cost a few bucks.

I did that with my larger old school remote that had a big old spring like contact switch, but the miniature ones that came with my newer opener only have a tiny, surface mount micro switch. I couldn’t quite see how to wire in a parallel switch without damaging it.

Took metal hook/hanger off opener, attached $.05 piece of velcro hook/loop to back & mounted inside center console...voila.

I'm sure the flash/pass is a good option, but I never liked splicing alot of extra doo-da's into wiring...potential f/ electrical gremlins to surface...just me tho - your car so mod away as you see fit.
