CPR Turbo Someday?

Hello everyone,
Im writing this mostly in hopes that Dustin of CPR sees this and gets on the ball, however it may just make me seem like a fool and im getting strung along.

Back in March of 2017 i decided to place an order for a CPR turbo kit for my 2012 mustang after much research and seeing so many great things said about the kit and Dustin.

I had to pay for the kit upfront, the lead time according to him at the time was 12 weeks, so i figured it was to expedite the process which was fine i was ready.

After months go by i ask him why it was taking longer than expected and i am told a bunch of stuff about backorders and having to deal with damaged products he recieves... okay things happen. So time goes on.

Even more months go by and i ask again what the deal is and now he has moved from california to texas so hes dealing with that and its taking longer. He says molds got damaged in the move that needed to be fixed and he has to find new people to do powder coating.

This just keeps going on and on with more and more stories, currently telling me for the last 4-5 months that my kit is ready, but cant get anyone to come pick it up to get it to me.

He has become increasingly hard to get ahold of and honestly i have lost my patience. It has been almost 3 years.

I waited until after the holidays to bother calling him again and now for the last two weeks ive called, left messages, texts, facebooked him, emailed, ive gotten nothing...

Maybe someone out there can help shed some light on whats going on with this guy. He seemed like a real great guy putting out some awesome stuff.

Maybe he will see this and i can get things finished finally.

I'm sorry to say this, but the money's almost certainly gone. I've seen this kind of story too many times. I doubt you will get you kit. NEVER pay for any custom work 100% up front without covering yourself in case of this kind of thing going down. Better yet don't pay 100% up front. If a business needs 100% payment to start, they shady. I could see 1/3, maybe 50%. If they are a young company just starting out they may not have the capital, but they should if they are legit. Sure looks like they have the capital from the Facebook page.

Did you pay with credit card?

If you have record of all your conversations, call the police in his town and the police in your town, file complaints. If you paid with CC, call them too. I'd also blow up his Facebook page if he didn't answer or return my calls. Crooks don't like public attention.

If your kit is done and someone needs to go pick it up, I know two people that can do it. UPS and FedEx. They'd both be happy to swing by and pick it up during business hours even and deliver it to you.

Everything was paid for with a credit card and through paypal.

I have every email, text message, and call log i have ever had between me and him. I don't want to cause a scene and be an ass, hell it took forever to convince myself to make this post. But something needs to be done. Ive just never had this kind of situation and i didnt know what i should do. I guess i was hoping someone on here knew him on a more personal level and knew what the hell is up with with him.

I agree with what you say though, more than likely my money is gone and ive been conned. Honestly been feeling that since 1 year in.

With this length of time, I don't like your chances of getting your kit or your money back.
I've seen it a few times now, someone builds a car or 2, promotes the heck out of it and themselves on a few forums, then takes a bunch of forum member's money for something that they can't deliver on.
Take tjm73's advice as that is your best bet. Hopefully he mans up and makes good on things.

I just looked up the address of his business, looks like a pretty modest house rather than a shop.
Try filing a claim with paypal and if that fails, go to your credit card company.

Get ur money back asap...forget the turbo. IF he sends it, it might not be complete, missing parts, damaged etc.... then what ? Can't imagine his after sales support. And who is gonna tune it...CPR..or somebody else ? What if the eng blows up..... blame the other tuner.

Get ur money back..... look elsewhere. 3 yrs this march.... that's theft. Threaten legal action....u want ALL ur money back.

Well today starts whatever is going to happen with this. I have sent him texts stating to send the kit or my money back immediately or i will be seeking other ways of getting it back.
If he doesnt contact me by the end of the day ill make calls to figure this out myself. Ill contact paypal first but i figure by now they cant do anything.

If you have recent back and forth communications, it might show that he has been stringing you along to the CC/PayPal people. It shows a prolonged active "business relationship". That might change any time frame issue in your favor.

That's nuts, hope you get your money back.
I don't see anything legit about waiting 3 years for anything you paid for at all.

My spirits sank when I read the first post. I was like fuuuucckkkk....... this guy is getting hosed. That pisses me off. I hate thieves.

as do I, but I'm saddened as it's Dustin, I know he's not been on the board in years, but he and I had several groups of correspondences and may even have spoken on the phone years back when he was a supporting vendor.

Maybe things went sideways for him. Don't know. Sorry if it did. But no excuse for what's happening to this guy.

I'll keep you guys updated as things proceed. Despite the glaring evidence that i have been had, i still have a sliver of hope that things will work out somehow. He does have a good reputation in the past.

After the text i sent him this morning i got a reply that he would call me today. We will see if he does.

Exactly how much money are you out of pocket ?

file a complaint with your credit card company and paypal ASAP and get the process of getting your money back started, although I doubt you will get any back at this point, at least from the CC company, paypal might be a different story. I have never done business with Dustin or his company, but sounds to me like he straight ripped you off and knew he was doing it.

Ahh hope, I remember when I had that for other humans.

Find out if he has ripped off other folks..and asap. Then u can prove a precedent. IF the credit card company won't play ball...get a lawyer involved.

Good luck getting a charge-back after 3yrs.

There was a thread on one of the Coyote fakebook forums early last year and guys were ripping the ch!t outta Dustin for taking money and taking more than a year to ship, he went back-n-forth with them .... and then he vanished ...

If the OP's kit is ready my big old a$$ would've been heading to the the Texas Outback to pick it up .. IIRC he moved to Dallas??

If you do get it his kits were the shit,, Local guy installed one on his Gen1 'Yote and that car was a monster..
