I can't even enjoy this post with the long safety essay's. OP great idea, wish I came up with something like this.

Do you want to sell me a kit? I need all of the aluminum panels to be replaced with carbon...
I can definitely look into it. It would be more cost effective to buy the pre made cluster and bent bezels though. I'd also like to add that for the airbag covers, I did two tests with them. I did one where I skinned over the aluminum and one without. The aluminum with carbon fiber skinned on top has the same flexibility and the one without the aluminum is more flexible than the oem one. I think once I get all these test fitted and the production down, I'll be ready to sell them. But yes, I could sell you a kit. But I'd recommend you get the cluster and vent bezels from apr. My carbon weave matches it perfectly. They changed to 2x2 3k twill weave and that's what I'm using.

Selling a product that goes between a federally mandated safety device and an anonymous passenger in a car. In a country full of ambulance chasing lawyers. I don't see how this can go wrong.

lol here we go again. I don't understand how dense some people can be. I understand safety. I understand how fast an airbag needs to deploy. These covers dont effect how the airbag comes out. at. all. I dont need a lecture. Odds are, if someone is going to do a modification to their airbag cover, they understand the risks. Which, by the way there already pre made kits that stick onto the airbag that are made out of carbon fiber but they just dont fit well. I really wish a MOD would come in here and clean this bullshit up because now every time someone sees this thread theyre not even going to look at the posts that even matter, rather than the post from the airbag nazis. You want one, sure ill make you one. dont want one? I dont give a shit. At this point im tired of trying to explain things to ignorant people that dont want to take the time to think oh wait a minute I could be wrong. Unfortunately, thats not how the world is anymore. Im all for constructive criticm and advice, just not stupid advice and/or criticism. I just dont see how a kit that adds thickness to the airbag cover that really impedes cover flexibility is so much safer than modifying existing iup dash panels by removing the aluminum cover from the plastic cover underneath and replacing it with a thin layer of carbon fiber and resin which turns out to be more flexible than the oem covers.

Would just like to say half my airbags are deactivated with resistors and no one sits in my passenger seat. If you don’t have a passenger sitting in the seat the bag is deactivated anyways. We don’t want a safety lesson in sure 95% of us have some modded shit that goes between fed mandated blah blah. Who’s taken off their cats? Smoked the taillights? Window tint??

Let the man build his product and share it with our community.

Sign me the fuck up
I'm making three more right now just to get ahead and make them a bit better. I'm using a different carbon fabric that has a better finish so I wanna see how that turns out. These looks amazing don't get me wrong but I want them to look the best they can.

Man that looks good!

If I hadn't already hunted down a Bullitt engine turned aluminum set, I'd be getting the rest of the set to match that carbon fiber.

Well right now I'm only making the airbag covers. I don't think it'd be very cost effective to make the whole set. For the right price, maybe.

Working on a second set. My stang is getting painted right now so as soon as its back I will post pics of all the panels installed..with a special touch ;) If you want a custom airbag cover, now is the time to claim one as Ill have one extra one..as far as price goes Im thinking about it..I have a number in mind but I dont want to scare anyone off..these are all hand made. Each set takes about 1.5 weeks to make to make sure its as best as it can be. Some errors will be made, it wont be 100% perfect but maybe 99%. The first 4 sets I made were test runs. The first actual set came out great and this second set, even better. I managed to get them thinner and look better but of course, one tiny piece of stray fiber under the resin. Not a big deal, not very noticeable.

How about some daylight pictures?
I have one. Floor mat had some dust on it and it looked dirty in the pic so I didn’t post it but here ya go. Car is under a cover right now until this crappy weather is over with. I took it out yesterday because it was nice out and the rain for the past 5 days cleaned the roads up. Man I miss driving it. :/ I forgot to get a picture while I had it out but I’ll get some more soon. I still have some more pieces I’m working on as well.
