Good luck in locating the HSS version that came out in 2010. Who would still carry them in stock? The last set of the 2010 HSS version I had was purchased from Brenspeed over 3 years ago.

You just have to be careful since they didnt change the plug designator as they are interchangeable. If the box just says revolution ht and they have those brazed on ground straps that's not what you want. Find the ones that say Pro or Hss logo on the box and they will have the stronger 1 piece ground strap shield. My local O'Reilly has them.

If your buying online to save a few bucks you may want to ask for verification of the version they are selling first.

I runt ht1's as I have lower compression and e85 and still get the better version. I replace plugs everyone year or so.

I did a quick search and I believe I found them on eBay. According to the description, they are the HSS version. LINK HERE

Strap issues is the symptom. Root problem was the detonation which will melt and break any plug.

PSA When you use 16mm autolites be it either ht1 or ht0 get the HSS version that came out in 2010. Vice original version that is still sold.

Jeremy, I recently found that others are using these Accell one-piece, one-step colder plugs, Link Here Do you have any experience with these?

I'll definitely check with my local O'Reilly's for my next set of HT0 plugs. For the time being my current HT0 plugs with the brazed on ground shield straps seem to be doing ok as their still fairly new. I may also consider making the switch to the Accel one degree colder, one-piece design plugs as well. I definitely agree the previous HT0 HSS with the stronger 1 piece ground strap shield was by far the much better design. IMO, it just doesn't make any sense as to why Autolite would change the design from the stronger 1 piece ground shield strap to a weaker brazed on design and yet claim that it's an improvement

When it comes to purchasing anything from fleaBay, I'm extremely very cautious not knowing for certain if the vendor/seller is reputable enough to take the risk. For that reason I much prefer purchasing from well known, established companies or straight from the manufacturer directly. I also checked out the Accel one-degree colder, one piece design plugs and may consider them for my next set as they do look very interesting as a possible alternative to say the very least :waytogo:

I never liked the strap electrode design. I've always run Brisk plugs...
Are these the Brisk plugs that you are referencing http://www.brenspeed.com/3vr14s.html ? Do you (or anyone else) have an opinions on these? Before I found this thread, I had no idea there was an alternative to the HT1. I see Brisk also makes a plug that is two heat ranges colder.

Those are the plugs I’m running in my car. Replaced the HT1 with them last year. 07 Stage 3. I haven’t had a problem with them.

I've run the Brisk regular and colder plugs and only ever had one issue with the ceramic insulation being cracked before install. But I have run Brisk for years on many different cars and bikes. Great plug but expensive. I have recently switched to the Accel plugs and they seem to work fine but I haven't driven them much or with any really hard pulls.

Thanks for the info.

I never liked the strap electrode design. I've always run Brisk plugs. I'm running Accel plugs now. Had HT0's in there once and used to get a bunch of popping and banging under decel and figured the strap design was hindering the combustion process. I still get a little rumble but the popping and banging went away after switching back to a regular type plug.

I'm interested in trying one of these two plugs over the HTO. Has anyone else had experience with the Accel 8160C1 ?
