Am I missing anywhere else to look for 2013-2014 gt500 15" front rotors? I was already burnt by Rock Auto selling stoptech gt sized rotors with specs for the 15" rotor, in the description, in the 2014 gt500 section. They have been sent back and cost me 8 bucks to get a refund, even though they messed up. Their return process sucks by the way. You can't talk to anyone...

AM won't just sell the rotors I want, they always gotta pair them with pads.

Cj pony parts filter options suck, but from what I can tell, they don't have a large selection 15" rotor. One to be specific.

I just wondered if there was some other hole in the wall place that sells that spec rotor like I mentioned in the subject that is competitive and reasonable. Just wanna see all my options before I pull the trigger again.. If that place sells the same rotor, but costs more for no reason, I am not interested. Lol

Also, what gives, is stop tech really the only one left making slotted or drilled rotors for the 2014 gt500 aside from 2 piece offerings and big brake kit companies?

LMR uses their own parts numbers to keep you from comparison shopping. I'm not doing your research for you but my method would be to go to Stoptech's website and get the part number of what you want, then google that part number. Amazon probably has it but Amazon's parts lookup is terribly inaccurate.

Frozen Rotors, the only ones I will ever use. I currently have Cryo Slotted I use on the track, after a couple years they show virtually no wear. http://www.frozenrotors.com/

I should also mention these are the same part number as the StopTech rotors, but Cryo Frozen to increase the hardness.

Zeckhausen Racing (US StopTech Distirbutor) carries the StopTech stuff, that is who I bought my StopTech 4 pistons from. https://www.zeckhausen.com/

If running on track you don't want drilled rotors.

Not a "hole in the wall," but I bought Centric premium high-carbon rotors from summitracing.com for mine.

Quick search shows prices ranging from $68-$129 for LF Centric rotors (https://www.summitracing.com/search...tor-position/front-left/submodel/shelby-gt500).

I don't remember why I bought those, I think because Sky Render wrote about them.

They have other brands starting about $40 (https://www.summitracing.com/search...tor-position/front-left/submodel/shelby-gt500).

Always had great customer service for over 30 years.

Yea, I wouldn't expect anyone to search for me. Good tip though, getting that part number will definitely help. My issue is I was trying see what other options are out there.

On that note thanks to all for the info so far. It helps greatly.

Stoptech or Centirc is the way to go and I would suggest avoiding slotted and drilled all together.

Interesting. Drilled, I understand, but why slotted?

If you can convince me why, it would save me half of what I am spending. Lol

nawagner is correct, for racing application you generally want a solid rotor mainly because they save on pad life.

I would also recommend to give either Zeckhausen or Frozen Rotors a call and speak with them. Dave Zeckhausen is probably one of the smartest in the braking business and a great guy, will answer any questions you have and will point you to the proper stuff for your car. Leave a message and he'll get back to you quickly.
Both places also have Centric, Brembo, and other options as well. You can also have too much brake for your tires and vise verse, so depending on the combo you have can also determine the rotor.

In my case I have a 2010 Roush 427R I run on the track that I drive to the track and is not trailered. I don't have ability to change tires or different pads when I get to the track. Originally it came with stock calipers and Roush Slotted rotors. Found my first track day that was not going to be enough as I boiled my brake fluid. brakes were smoking, and I lost pedal rather quickly. I then purchased my StopTech 4 piston kit from Zeckhausen as well as StopTech braided lines for both front and rear. I still have the stock calipers on the rear and have replaced them twice as I've melted the piston seals on them. I drive an automatic with hand controls and don't have down shifting ability, so I believe I'm a bit harder on brakes than a car with manual trans. I also now use Motul RBF 600 brake fluid.

I originally tried the older Blue Box Hawk HPS pads, not near enough pad. Then tried DTC 30 on the front and HP+ on the rear. Those were great but I hated the squeal from the DTC 30 when on the street and they were a bit harder on my rotors. Per recommendation from Zeckhausen I tried Ferodo Racing DS2500 pads on all 4 corners and they are what I currently use. Less squeal and much easier on the rotors. My understanding the new Hawk Pads in the red box are much better than the older ones???

Couple years ago I replaced my front StopTech rotors to the Frozen Rotors, which in my case is the StopTech rotor that has been cryogenically frozen to harden the metal. They say they last 3 times longer and I believe it, in 2 years on street and 3 track days they show literally no wear. They are also now freezing some internal engine components, as well as gun barrels and golf clubs. If you have a particular rotor you like you can send them in to get those frozen as well.

None of that is really useful for a street car (this is "chit chat"). All these options do is "lighten your wallet". Unless you are going for the bling factor, then sure - drill, slot, and machine in Hello Kitty into the face for all I care. ;)

The "coated" ones are powder coating the rotor before it is final machined, so the hub areas aren't bare cast iron and rust, which is nice. (see above).

Slotted faced rotors are normally done on REAL RACE BRAKE SYSTEMS to keep the pad surface clean... it scrapes away tiny slivers of brake material, like on this 2-piece Powerbrake branded 380mm S550 rotor above. This DOES accelerate rotor wear, of course.

Well RockAuto is the worst to deal with because they are the cheapest supplier. You can never get to a human there. I just checked 2013 and 14 GT500 entries and they are ALL WRONG (they list 355mm = 14" dia, which is incorrect)

AM is all about moving bling and "packages", so again - you aren't going to find the best replacement rotor options there.

Looks like you have found some other suppliers, which is good. Just get the plain rotor unless you have to add bling.

Frozen Rotors are becoming very popular in SCCA racing so you may want to do some research on them. Company name is Diversified Cryogenics.

As I mentioned previously they are also now doing internal engine components and Gun Barrels for a couple gun manufacturers.
Not a dumb as you might think....
