I bought this here 2006 V6 Stang to be my beater and give my s550 some free time. The motor in it was locked up tighter than I had been led to believe. I’ve been looking around for a replacement and decided to just V8 swap it and be done. Pulled the engine and trans. Found a donor 4.6 complete with trans from a 2007 GT. Will pick that up tomorrow and post some pics up. I’ve been reading up here and there. Appreciate any and all help along the way...
Thanks

You're timing is impeccable! reaaaaallly want to yank that boat anchor 6 out of boss lady's ragtop, and throw in an 8. I assume this is not exactly splitting the atom. (also, thinking of going rebuilt over salvage yard. am I correct that this isn't awful?

Late but oh well... we have been supporting our local pro Junior Hockey team. Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to watch our team sweep the #1 team in the league to move into playoff position. If you have a NAHL team in your area I highly recommend checking them out and supporting the league. Players are 15-21, feeding into NCAA and NHL. Action on ice is explosive and fast paced. Dig it.
As promised, I popped a couple tabs and did a few 12oz curls after returning home with the family. So without any help or “outside interference” I hoisted the Blue Ox ,or Babe if you will out of the back of my f150. Excuse the mess in my Garage. It’s mid winter and cluttered...lol
So, it’s an 07 4.6 out of premium GT got it with the ecm, wiring harness, BBK shorties, 5spd tranny with the Hurst short throw. 70000 Miles. Gaskets all appear to be virgin. The only real disappointment here so far is that I didn’t get the obviously high dollar”spared no expense my buddy can weld” mid pipe. Oh well tho...enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think!

Coat hanger and tiger torch welding there.
Sometimes you just have to admit that you are too drunk to weld.

Best I can offer you for an update on progress. I have the whole engine bay gutted. Radiator support, K-member, front suspension all removed. I’ll spend the rest of the weekend removing some surface rust and prepping the engine bay and undercarriage for paint.

Nothing much to report....I’m up in it, loving it strong. Elbow greasing the hell out of it. While I work it, I’ll tease some pics of the hardcore swap I’ll be chasing.... pic #1 below my heap. Ew La La what could it be?

Well, I’m just at guy with a floor jack and a creeped, so this is ass far as I’ve made. A little blaster, a cutoff wheel, 4 sawzall blades, and one asshole panhard bar bolt later....

On to the gas tank. I’ve descaled the undercarriage up to the fuel tank area. Have to remove the tank and evap, and it will be completely bare. This is the furthest I’ve ever gone as far as completely disassembling a car lol. I still have from there back to clean up then onto the Por-15.

Cutting weight... lol
Cleaning up the rear section of the car still. Should have some warmer weather coming to get paint on. Sorting out my wiring in the meanwhile. The clean spot I started vacuuming up obviously. Done With round 2. One more to go.

Steering knuckles are all blasted and off to powder coat. Nothing special, gloss black should look mighty fine and look like new for a long time to come. Hope to have my k member and lower control arms finished today as well. BEA1AD29-ACDB-4598-AC46-03CD73361DE0.jpeg
