So how do you like it?

I'll echo all the positive reviews out there. Very worthy mod. I was able to get it done without too much trouble (car on jack stands.) The old one had a very simple ball and socket that was not holding up well, even at low mileage (2010, 19K miles). Shifting "quality" over the last couple of summers had really fallen off.

I still have the Hurst that came with my car. I never had any problems with it, WOT shifting with WOT box, until recently. 90k on the odometer and it's getting sloppy.

I only got about 20K out of my Hurst before it was super sloppy (noticeable wear in the pivot ball), also the bottom dust boot came apart and I could not figure out how to get a replacement. On my Steeda Tri-Ax, I found the same issue when I had the transmission out of the car- emailed Steeda, a rep called me, and I got a replacement boot for around $12. Really been happy with this Tri-Ax and I bought it used so it didn't even cost $200.

I know there are a lot of post on the forum about shifters but how do I get the notchy feel of my Hurst shifter to feel smoother? I hear the MGW shifters are smooth. Can I take it apart and grease something or is that just how a Hurst is? I'm thinking about changing it out. Some love the Hurst some think it is too old school and junk. Shifting my car in reverse is difficult sometimes and under hard acceleration the shifting seems slow.

Davis Craig DC-8140, 30 gpm @ 10 amps. $169 from Summit. It is actually an engine water pump. I haven't actually measured flow yet, but it is noticeably more than the Pierburg pump from DOB. Once I have an actual GPM rate, I`ll post it.

just curious, I did the same thing a month ago using the VMP heat exchangeer with the 1" inlets and outlets. I dont know if your pump flows the same direction as mine, I pumped into the bottom of the heat exchanger, dont exactlyremember why, maybe something to do with easy priming?

I don't know if it will make any difference, but I put mine at the lowest point in the system so it`s always pushing water instead of pulling water.

Ditto, i put mine in the same location, I was just curious if yours was "pushing" into the lower heat exchanger fitting IE what direction is your fluid flowing? IDK if it makes a difference

Cleaned, vacuumed and quick detailed interior.
Replaced worn cheap seat covers with new cheap seat covers. :)
Swapped stock airbox, reinstalled JLT CAI.
Loaded x4 canned tune w/JLT for testing/evaluation. So far, I like the way it runs.

I think that's just how Hurst is- the Hurst has really short throws. For comparison, on my Hurst I had a longer chrome Hurst stick installed on it, so when I removed the Hurst and installed the Tri-Ax I decided to keep the same stick. On the Tri-Ax with that stick it was like rowing a boat and I had to put a shorter stick on it.

When I first got the WOT box I could set it to 175 milliseconds and have nice crisp shifts. As the bushings wore I had to increase the cutout time a bit. I'm now set on 300 milliseconds, which seems like a lifetime. I don't mind the notchiness of the Hurst, I've used them for years. But my old ones were mostly V-gate shifters. Hard to miss a gear with those things. If you put new bushings in your Hurst, it's going to shift a lot better, while being even more notchy.

Yea, I think if I want to change the way my shifter feels, I have to change the complete shifter. The Hurst just is going to be notchy especially under high RPM and torque.
