Well, it's simple, fixed some tranny issues and proceeded to lose control mid-turn on the test drive due to a pothole... gotta love that live axle!

Had to strip the front calipers and restart my paint project.
For some reason the color wasn't sticking to the primer.
Sanded it down and restarted all over again, primer first

Dawwww... That's frustrating. I bought some 2000 degree paint for my rear calipers, sanded them down, etc. Then realized there was a baking process when it was rubbing off and I wondered why. That's what I get for not reading.. so I changed paints as a last ditch effort since I was out of time.. seems to be holding up ok.

Notice the two burnt spots and transferred metal on second gear. Gouged the ring on the shaft it runs against and did not shift too well. Really not the synchros fault. So the tole in parts is shaft, second gear and first/second synchro assembly. Then there is bearings, seals, shims, snap rings, brass pads for the shift forks and synchros for the first 4 gears. Is this fun or what?

I looked longingly at it outside. Should have gone for a drive today, it's gonna be crappy the next couple days....oh well.

You might try that Duplicolor brush on paint. It actually gives a pretty smooth finish (I wasn't sure at first but it levels out as it dries) and as I said, it's been holding up for about 3 years now, except it didn't like brake fluid when I was bleeding the brakes- but, it's easy to touch up if that happens.
