An exhaust question for y’all:

Got an opportunity to pick up a Dynatech exhaust system- sounds awesome & cant wait to install.

But there’s an issue:
The components I’m getting are the headers & the mid pipe (x-pipe). They don’t include the last pipes that run from the mid-pipe to the rear end (tail pipes).

You should know I’m new to all of this, & I’m trying to get educated on exhaust components so I can answer my big question:
Can I find any tail pipes of the same diameter, bolt them up to this system, and have it sound *close* to what the exhaust originally sounded like?

I’ll drop a pic here so you can check it out. Thanks.

The only way I’d get those is if the seller hacked off the pieces of pipe after the x so it could bolts to the stock over axle pipes. Otherwise the install would require cutting it yourself or trying to hack the portion that goes over the axle to the pieces of straight pipe. How much is he selling it for?

Seller hacked off the tail pipes before the rear end.
So I’ll either weld it (id love to not do that) or try to flare the ends of another tail-pipe system that bolts up and flanges to the mid-pipe.
I’m currently running the stock set-up with tail pipes coming from the mid section & bending up to go over the rear axle.
Selling to me for ~$350 plus my current exhaust system.

You should be able to mock the x pipe into position after the headers are installed and see if you can just chop off enough of that welded on pipe to allow you to clamp your over axle pipes to the x-pipe like it was stock, provided that those are 2.5" pipes Shouldn't be a huge deal. That's what I would do.

Either that or cut it off and put on a flange of some sort. On my car I got annoyed with factory style butt joint always leaking (especially after I installed my headers) so I put these on: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-672325. Mine are clamped on, not welded, but could always be welded on and allow for a lot more angular deflection on the pipes if they need it- plus they don't leak.
