Im installing my new DSS driveshaft on my 05. It is about an 1/8" too long to fit. The stock has a lot more adjustment since the center yoke of shaft slides. Can I remove the bolts from the LCAs and tap it back to gain that 1/8", and then reverse the procedure when I have the driveshaft in place? I just want to make sure Im not screwing things up by doing that.

Is the axle hanging with the suspension fully extended? Try jacking up the axle so it is not fully extended on the suspension.

Yes it is. Wouldn’t that shorten up the total distance since the front of the DS is higher?

Jut removed my DSS driveshaft a few weeks ago. Jacking the suspension up should do the trick.

Don't forget, your rear suspension moves in an arc, not straight up and down...
