Ford Performance says (I asked) that M-4602- MGTM one piece aluminum driveshaft will not fit a 2012/2013 Boss - just a GT. Which is a bit surprising because the relevant drivetrain components are similar and many sites say it actually fits.

Does anybody have experience with this driveshaft in a Boss?

Thanks!

IDK...length, mounts, diameter, angles...probably just a tad different so it won't align f/ install/ops. Looked at AM & CJ Parts...both show different between these parts/years so it's more than likely correct. Guessing you're looking at price difference?

That is very strange. I can't imagine there would be any difference in anything since they use the same engine block, transmission, and rear axle as a GT. A quick glance at AM shows the FP driveshaft fits the Boss (scroll down under 'features'). Same for the other brands they sell.

FYI I have a Dynotech aluminum shaft in my Boss and really like it.

I installed this Ford Performance driveshaft earlier this year on my 2012 Boss LS and have loved it. Fit perfectly and eliminated driveline vibrations throughout the RPM range

My thinking was that being a FP part I would use it because of generally better fit and finish. This is all very confusing because I am not aware of anything being different and they (FP) did not or could not explain why it does not fit.

I will ask DSS, thanks for the idea, and take it from there. Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for confirming what I suspected. I will do a bit more due diligence but probably still go with it
