Got a new project starting soon and I was coming up with a game plan for installing suspension, drivetrain and chassis components on it and decided to add to my humble garage to help with the execution part. Bought a Bendpak QuickLift, 7000 lb. I don’t know why I never got one of these before. Maybe because I’m getting old and lazy. Anyways, I like it! And look how high and how much room there is. Sorry about the lighting.

Wow...pretty awesome, but betting it cost a "pretty penny" as well...??

Great solution f/ mech-heads who don't have clearance and/or $$$ for full lift tho.

Thank you for posting this. I've been considering buying a scissor lift and wondering if this would be a smart option. The lower cost of these and portability vs. the MDS-6LP is a very tempting as the stall I'm going to be using a lift in is one that I use for my daily driver. Do they seem stable enough to be able to do heavier work? Examples would be beating out front wheel drive wheel bearings and stuck brake rotors off? I'd appreciate any input. Oil changes, tire rotations, and detailing will be the majority of what I'll be doing but need the option of being able to tackle the heavier projects at times.

I'm jealous, It's getting to where I'm half wore out by the time I get the car up high enough to work on it. I'm anxious to hear how you like it.

That's pretty cool! It's difficult to tell, how much is there between the two lifting members? Would it be cumbersome to drop the exhaust or transmission for instance?

Nice! Been wanting one of those. How much does the car swing front & back when they're lifting? I've seen some videos where it looks like it moves by a lot, but yours doesn't look like it moves forward very much at all while it's going up.

Each lifting section is stand alone and there isn't any connection from side to side. You can drop exhaust, driveshaft, transmission, etc without any worries.

The QuickLift is very stable, even on slightly uneven surfaces. I've used mine for work in the garage as well as swapping tires at HPDE or AutoX events where the asphalt isn't always perfectly level.

One of my better garage tooling purchases!

For a Mustang and/or comparable vehicle with similar wheelbase, I'd recommend the BL-5000SLX or BL-5000EXT. Both lift to the same height. The only difference between the two is the EXT has a longer span across the rocker panel pinch weld area and will accommodate longer wheel base vehicles.

I paid $1195 shipped for the EXT when it was on-sale about two years back.

About $1600 and I got the wall mount storage brackets and extra blocks for the pinch weld lift points. I also got the 7000 lb. unit which was a couple more hundred than the 5000 lb. one.

When I bought my house I wanted a 2-post lift but I have a cable tension re-enforced concrete garage floor which you can't drill into like regular concrete with standard rebar. It is pretty much my only solution.

Yes it is very stable. I would not hesitate to heave or hammer on the car while it's up.

Plenty of room. In fact I'm actually looking forward to getting underneath there and doing some work. Both sides are completely separate lifting units so there is nothing in between them. I'll try and get a better pic with good lighting when I get home.

The rotational movement is less than a foot. I would say between 10"-11"


What model is that, and how much did you spend?

It's the regular 7000 lb unit and about $1600, but I added extra blocks and brackets for wall storage. You can get a 5000 lb unit for about $1200 - $1300.

For those that are lowered though check the clearance! I have less than 1/4" clearance to slide it under the pinch weld up front. It was so close I measured 3 times to make sure I could get it under there without driving up on boards or something. The 5000 lb. unit has an extra 1/2' or so clearance. All their dimensions are on the website for the different models so check.

After my Dad closed his Ford dealership back in '07 it quickly became clear that I would miss the after hours access to the two-post hoists, the commercial grade air system and the tire machine & balancer.

I wish I could swing those for my barn.
