I have a 09 mustang gt.
My windows will not go up or down. They do go up and down when I open and close my door. I’ve tried to reprogram the switches, I’ve checked the fuse in the passenger side box, and I’ve replaced the switches on the door. I don’t think the window motor would be bad since they still go up and down when I open and close my door. Any ideas?

Try turning it off and then back on again? [emoji6]

Have you had any water leaks into the passenger compartment? If so, the SJB could have corroded terminals.

Well........ I bought this car a few weeks ago on an auction. It was in a flood and it didn’t start because they were not able to turn the key. I was able to get it started and just about everything works except for the windows, air conditioning, and the electronics on the seats do not work. I have been tearing it apart to get the water all out.

You bought a flood car? Wow, good luck.

I wanted a project and I got one. It won’t be a daily driver. Only special occasions and nice sunny days. I’m surprised there isn’t more wrong with it.

You will become an electrical magician working with flood damage. Or end up putting some 12ga slugs through it. Only time can tell.

So yeah, SJB is definitely a likely suspect. Those things go bad when the car is just rained on with a blocked drain, let alone being completely under water!! You wanted a project, I'd say you got one!

I say good luck with it. It's not like they are making anymore of these. We will be seeking these out like they do the 1st gens in 30 or 40 years.

What did this one run you? Thinking about picking up another to play with.

As for the window, if you have touched all relays and motors, and the work, corrosion on the sjb is a great next step. You may actually solve other issues too by fixing that.

I paid $2800 but after taxes and shipping it was $4100. The body is almost perfect expect the bumper needs repainted. There isn’t any rust on it.

I’m willing to bet the cowl was plugged and back flooded into the car. This happens a lot. Unless you have more specific details on the water damage. A plugged cowl will account for most of your non working equipment aside from the key. The key issue could likely have been a corrosion issue due to condensation. Show us what you’re working on... good luck

This is the car. I can only upload one pic since I’m not a vip member.

Good news and bad news

Good news: I switched the sjb and the windows worked!

Bad news: When the car is running, my headlights flicker but they work fine when it’s turned off. My fog lights do not work though but they did with the old sjb.

The sjb that I bought was from a 08 mustang but it said it was for a 08-09 mustang. It was very cheap ($100) so that could be a problem. My headlights I think are HID.

That's a nice car & if my eyes aren't deceiving me, that's a Glass Roof Edition '09, correct? I have 1 of these as well in the same color scheme & the roof pattern sure looks like it's a glass roof............

As others have said, the headlights in your car are OEM factory HID headlights which are very sensitive to any current fluctuations, so it's not a bad move to get the alternator tested to ensure that it isn't the cause.
