Powerdyne had these problems all the way back into the early 90's, possibly the late 80's with their fox body kits. I didn't even know that they were even around when the s197's came out.
How is that news to you? Sounds like you had the exact problem that almost all of these blowers had.News to me too, I had a ‘91 LX with a Powerdyne, thing worked great until the belt inside the unit snapped and bound it up which then killed the drive belt to the blower. Rebuild was pretty straight forward though and after I got the new stuff on it ran like a champ until I sold the car.
Keep it under 9psi boost. The v3 compressors are self contained lubrication. Dont have to tap into oil feed and return. What model? I was thinking on ProCharger
Probably a good idea to increase cooling. So the v2 is the way to go. Should upgrade the radiator to a mishimoto?.

Vortech and Paxton produced thousands of blowers that didn't fail on a regular basis.
My mistake. Typical Monday problems all around me, time to back away from the keyboard.I guess I wasn’t clear, I didn’t realize they were still around for the S197 cars. The failure I experienced was as you described but I had no idea they were building blowers for our year models.
Thanks mate, any advice on what psi should run?Probably a good idea to increase cooling.
The V2 uses engine oil for lubrication, I say go with the self contained V3 compressor.
Nice ride.
Yours, the one in the video it’s mine, the video it’s from the previous owner. The one in the video or mine?
