Welcome. Purpose here wasn’t to hurt anybody’s feelings. Pointing them out and putting the information out there for everyone. They seem the work alright. My general experience with Chinese knockoffs is that tolerances are so broad that you never know what you’re getting. For instance, I can buy 20 gx120 Honda knockoff engines, but only 1 of them will have a crank that doesn’t rattle the engine apart or destroy the engine prematurely.

That’s a fair assessment. I had mistakenly trusted Cardone’s claims like many others apparently. Unfortunate that they would false advertise by providing knockoffs at their discretion and stock availability. That could of course be leveraged to allow the core model to be always a knockoff and periodically throw in a few real remans if it avoids litigation.

It certainly doesn’t sit well with me since I’ve painstakingly been attentive to many details throughout this build. Once it is running, I may replace them.

IF AMR says they will fit a GT-500, they will fit as the dimensions seem to be the same as the real deal

Wow, I'm an idiot. Didn't even think to check if their site to see if they'll fit. Looks like they do say their 18" AMR's fit the gt500. Thanks for that!

That is the truth. Years ago when I was in college I bought a Chinese Makita knockoff electric die grinder. Used it to port a cylinder head and a bunch of other stuff until a cutoff wheel siezed in something and it destroyed the plastic coupler between the collet and motor. So, I bought another almost identical one off ebay that lasted about a whole 4 hours of usage before something in it just went completely fubar and it stopped working. I took that one apart, put the aforementioned plastic coupler into the old one, and put it back together. I used that first die grinder for almost 10 more years before the last time I took it out to use it and it wouldn't turn on anymore (guessing the motor brushes are shot but I have no idea).

I bought the CHI-NAH knockoff calipers a looong time ago, and I removed the weird casting flash crap with a die grinder, carbide, and cartridge rolls so they looked more legit.

Today, I would find some take off 4 pots from ebay/etc... or later model mustang parts, or buy some stuff made in the usa because I am not buying stuff from a country we're at war with. People who do that should be charged with treason.

Why don't you ask CHI-NAH???

Does anyone know how big of a wheel spacer is needed for these wheels to fit 4 pot brembos from a s197? I got 5mm spacers currently. Just would like to know before I go to put em on.

Unfortunately, yes.

That will depend on the specific wheel.
Best to mount the calipers, put the wheel on the studs and allow some clearance to the calipers and see how much of a gap you have to fill. You can also use large washers to test fit.

And I'm not changing rims. These tires have less than 4000 miles on em....

Ahem! Lol 6piston pp brembos ftw.

Can vouch, will put abs to the test for sure. (Just saying they can bite well). I would like to get the larger brake booster as I notice more pedal travel, but I never have pushed to the floor with out breaking the tires and abs kicking in. I bought these from rockauto. You need 2013-2104 gt500 rotors and aftermarket brake lines for 2013-2014 gt500. I went with stoptech's as braided lines and stoptech slotted rotors. Saving for the rear 2013-2014 rear gt500 caliper brackets, seals, rotors and pads to upgrade the rear too.

...and yes, wheel clearance must be considered. Stock 2014 and older ain't gonna cut it without spacers. However the pp rims should. Dunno. You would think so since this is the caliper behind them stock.

Agreed, but when you got them were they legit? I would imagine they were being motorcraft parts Lol.

Love the wheels BTW

As best I could tell. They had original boxes, nothing resealed, labels with all Ford info was fresh, and they look amazing. I was so convinced I never sweated it. I seem to remember seeing fomoco on them, but now that I have got everyone's attention I am second guessing.. lol I will have to pull a wheel tomorrow to check. Lol.

And thank you on the wheels.

For sure. After I bought the 18 i loved the pp brakes so much I started looking to swap them onto the s197 and saw them on rock a, but the same thought crossed my mind except that they are listed under motorcraft. They look sharp as hell Black to boot. Thanks for the input!

Yea see I wanna keep my stock rims. Tires are brand new. Plus the rims complete the look. I have 5mm wheel spacers. Anything else I'll have to get some boss hubs...

The motorcraft 6 pots are legit, RockAuto wouldn't put Chinese bootlegs in a motorcraft box.
