Hey guys I'm putting in a new radio for my car. I'm wiring up a new harness and I came across the amplifier turn-on wire that is blue and white. The kit I bought from Scosche has 2 wires coming out of a separate little harness, that also has 2 RCA cables, which I assume are the amplifier turn on wires because they are blue and white. My question is, do I connect the 2 wires that come from the Scosche harness to the single wire that came with the new head unit?

In the Scosche harness one is likely an amp turn on, and the other may be for a power antenna (that most cars don't have). If you have an aftermarket amplifier then the Amp turn on wire (usually blue, or blue and white) goes to the "remote turn on" / "Amp turn on" wire or port on the amplifier... You wouldn't use the harness. But if you have factory amplifiers then you can / should connect the Amp turn on wire from the head unit, to the appropriate wire on the Scosche harness, so the factory amps turn on with the head unit. If one wire doesn't turn on your amplifiers ... Try the other one.

All the Amp turn on does is apply 12v+ to the wire which activates a relay circuit inside the Amp to make the main power connection to turn on / power up. Old school redneck wiring people just connected 12v+ to both the Amp power and the remote turn on and the amp stayed on until the battery went dead.

Hope this makes sense

I think it does. Problem is, the wires on the Scosche harness are both white and blue and the paperwork that came with it describes the blue and white as the amp turn on. The antenna wire is on the main harness with the rest of the wires. I asked our audio guy at work if he knows and he was confused too so he suggested I wire both wires on the Scosche harness together so I did that. I'm installing it all this weekend so here's to hoping it goes well.
