Probably not considered tech here, but you would need to find the 4 gauge cluster and the control buttons for the console. It should be plug and play, but it is the entire tach, speedo, odometer, and gauge cluster

Wasnt the 4 guage the minimum? Fuel/water/tach/speedo.
The 6 guage adds volts and oil pressure.
But yea, new cluster, and FYI the odometer lives in the cluster.

Thanks for the information. I really dislike idiot lights and this is such a nice car I'd like to get that updated.

Yes, good catch. I was thinking in terms of 4 gauges besides the tach and speedo: water temp, voltage, oil pressure, fuel.

I have one to install in mine, but the stepper motors need replacing.

The 6-gauge cluster doesn't have idiot lights but the oil pressure and cylinder head temp could be considered as idiot gauges.

The only gages in this car is the speedo, RPM, Gas and Temp. Everything else a light comes on.

Don't skip over this post. The oil sending unit is just for idiot lights. It will read good until you're down to around 5 psi. That's when the light would come on.

Thanks. Thinking about having my mechanic research and look for gages/panel from wreaked 2008.

I'm no mechanic so describing this as best I can. As I said I don't like idiot lights. I don't know if the current wiring that goes to the idiot lights would be a simple disconnect and then plug those wires into a cluster of gages feeding me the same information. If, it could be that simple then it would seem the panel out of a wreaked 2008 with gages would be a simple solution. If not, some kind of after market product.

If your '08 GT has a 4-gauge cluster, a 6-gauge cluster swap from an '07-'09 GT would be plug n' play. The extra gauges are for battery voltage and oil pressure though as I mentioned before, the latter is just an idiot gauge. As long as the oil pressure is at least 6psi, it'll move up to the middle.
You'd also need a new OEM switch panel with INFO/SETUP/RESET buttons (Ford part no. 6R3Z-18578AA) to replace the blank panel to the left of the 12v outlet. This would enable you to reset the trip meter, change the background colour of the gauges (MyColor), and access information stored in the on-board computer. There'll already be a wiring pigtail behind the blanking panel so adding the new switch panel is also plug n' play.

Dino is right. Swapping over to a 6-gauge is plug-n-play provided you have the speedo and OEM switch panel. Did it myself. Just find a speedo and switch and they plug right in. Works great including the my color option on my son's V6 which didn't have it on the 4 gauge.

If you want actual gauges you have to buy the sensors and sending units which should come with whatever gauges you buy. They will not hook into the stock wiring harness. With that said you can get mechanical or electrical gauges. Mechanical run an actual oil or vacuum line or whatever into your cars dash directly to the gauges. Electrical will have remote sensors and sending units so all you have coming into the cabin is wires. Electrical are more expensive but better IMO. You can go pretty inexpensive with mechanical or spend over $1000 in a fancy electrical set up. I went with Autometer Elite series gauges but you probably don't need anything with those capabilities.

Just a word of caution. You DO NOT want hot or combustible fluids plumbed into the cabin of your vehicle.

Seems reasonable!
