I really hate to ask this question but I cannot find the info anywhere anymore. I cannot, for the life of me remember what part number I used to upgrade my 08 gt to the 2010 gt altenator. I know that there are two different part numbers. One for automatic and one for manual. Mine is a manual but does someone know the difference between the two? I get these direct from ford and they keep asking me this question. I wouldn't really think that the trans type would matter in this situation being that its going from a single phase to a 3phase altenator? Anyone have the part numbers? Thanks...parts people here apparently can't lookup parts based on model year. They need a VIN or PN..-_-

Thank you. Which part number is this for. The manual or auto one? Or does it simply not matter

It doesn’t matter, i used to use the 2010 alternator myself. Ive used one for convertible and auto until i upgraded to the department of boost alternator.

All automotive alternators are three phase so let's bust that internet myth here and now.
The 09-10 Denso alternator is definitely more reliable than the earlier Motorcraft unit and undoubtedly a good swap. I suggest you order an upgraded version from the Department of Boost.

Ok. I wonder why they have two different numbers then. And I'm supercharged too. No way the stock 6gs can handle the heat

Of course you two would recommend a very good altenator that works for most superchargers except for the one I have..lol. also I'm not sure why but everyone I have talked to about these or seen posts from have referred to the 6gs as single phase. Maybe they don't have the correct information. I know that these are clutched altenators if im not mistaken? I already have a denso from a 2010 GT my main concern is the difference between those that have part numbers for a manual transmission and those for auto..

Oh yea they do. It was a perfect fit for me. I had to ask for a solid pulley for my set up since its backwards

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a brand new Motorcraft GL-950, 9R3T-10300-BA. I understand this to be the 09-10 Denso model. It won't work for my swap since i'm using a 2001 ECU. It has been mocked up on my engine but never had a belt attached to it and has never been plugged in or ran. If anyone is interested it is for sale, PM me if interested. Thanks.

the manual cars have a clutch type pully and therefore wont run backwards.

It seems one has a clutched pulley, the other has a fixed pulley? Fixed pulley for auto and clutched pulley for manual?
