Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the Antenna inlet on the 05-09 GT's?

I'm trying to install a .50 Cal bullet as my antenna, not the plug at the back of the head unit that gives you AM/FM but the antenna on the right fender that sticks out of the car. I need to know what adapter to buy to be able to thread my .50 cal bullet into the antenna housing. I don't have an antenna on my vehicle so I can't measure it, does anyone know what size adapter will fit (screw) into the antenna housing?

Thanks

I have a “ Shorty“ antenna laying around somewhere. You could probably unseat the bullet, and drill out or thread the primer pocket, then reseat the bullet into the shell casing.
That way you could possibly even have some antenna function, even though the Shorty was not very good at best. You can have it for shipping...

Whoa that's a very neat little diagram. I'm looking for the dimensions/what type of screw will fit into the Base Cover (4) and that will properly screw into the Base (6)! I bought a kit with 8 Adapters and none fit into the Antenna Base for the Mustang :/ Two of them were really close to working but no cigar.

So you want the thread pitch of an antenna that will thread into the fender mount?

Precisely yes, because the 8 adapters I got with a kit did not work. Also checked my local Canadian Tire and couldn't find anything that would work either... I just need to find a kit online that comes with an adapter than can fit into the damn car's base antenna! Haha

I believe your instructions are for an actual bullet and trying to mcguyver it to fit on the Mustang? I have an aftermarket .50 cal bullet that is already fit to be a car antenna! I live in a major city so I still get pretty good reception even now with no antenna at all haha. I have an aftermarket head unit with bluetooth so that's what I use mostly, but my GT is black with silver stripes and so this silver .50 cal bullet looks suuuper badass on the Mustang... Just can't find an adapter to make it fit/screw into the car's antenna base!
