Can you take a picture of the intake?
Are you the original owner and did you remove the plates or did you buy it this way?
If it is a stock intake and has no plates, it is probably a 2009 or 2010 intake. I would take it off and see if the cmcv's have already been eliminated.

I'm guessing from his username that he has an 06 GT. Are the plates completely missing with the composite manifold runners bolted directly to the heads? A photo would help.
If you bolt on delete plates, you reuse the original OEM manifold bolts.

Me too, I figured someone may have installed a newer intake at some time-perhaps a blower car returned to stock.
This just sounds odd as I would think there would be alignment issues if the 05-08 intake was bolted to the heads without the cmcv plates.

I'm really confused too. First thing I thought about was clearance with the alternator and throttle body.

And if he meant the plates are on there but somebody removed the blades and shafts you're going to have a bunch of holes to fill and big time vacuum leaks at the back where the shaft connects to the CMCV motor.

OP - Need some pics.

Yes i have an 06 mustang gt my buddy back home had an intake with the plates completely removed i can get some pic in a little bit, the only thing i had to do was get shorter bolts to install it. I bought the delete plates because i had extra money and i figured that the intake being directly to the head is probably getting alot of heat, figured with the delete plate that could only help things. I just need to get some bolts to install it.

If there isn't anything between the head and intake manifold I'm surprised that works, but no matter. GTG!

As far as bolt length goes I'm not taking one of mine out to measure it right now. Sorry, lol.

#1. Take one of your existing bolts out and measure it.
#2. Measure how thick your CMCV delete plate is.
#3. Now add the two together and go buy the right length bolts if you think you need to. Maybe the original bolts are still in there???

Edit - If I remember correctly the two bolts in middle of the intake manifold underneath the crossover fuel line are a little longer than the rest.

That is a 2009-2010 manifold.

The 05-08 cars has a much thinner flange to account for the CMCV plates. This is what the 05-08 looks like:

The plates won't work with that manifold.

Heat has never been a problem with the composite manifold and it seals to the heads just fine.
If the 05-08 can seal to the CMCV plates, why would you think that this manifold would not seal to the heads?

Wut. No you dont. That manifold doesnt use plates. Leave it alone.
