Hey all!
I am replacing the cam phasers/gears on my 05 twin turbo 5.4L 3v. Like an idiot, I took the two-piece lockouts out without taking a picture.
Unlike the single-piece lockouts that simply go into the "best-fitting" location on the 3v cam phasers, the two-piece ones (which net I believe a 10* retard from the position with no command from the PCM), these require manually clocking the phaser partially to install the two pieces, holding the vane in a midway position. These are NOT the same as the limiting lockouts with the springs.
The end result is a phaser with the middle finger on the reluctor wheel roughly 10* off from the mark on the cam phaser, as shown in the attached picture.
I'm hoping SOMEONE other than me has these installed and has pics of where they go. Mine came assembled from RGR (Rich Groh), but I can't get ahold of him to figure out what brand they are. I've googled and googled and can't find them anywhere. For all I know, he machined them himself.
