I’ve ran a MVB auto in my other 3V. It’s just not for me. Is it quicker, yes. That’s just not what it’s about for me. I enjoy the thrill of banging gears down track. It’s much more exiting and adrenaline pumping for me.

I totally get that.

I don’t think I’ve posted any pics of the new “face lift”

Haven’t gotten a change to really get out this season yet. Goal for first “competitive” event is Street Car Takeover in Columbus, Ohio in June.

Well I think I’m done with the “built 3V” life.

Car has been down in mph big time all year long. Couldn’t find any clear issues as to why. Only did a handful events this season due to everything that’s going on.

Finally started to get the 60 down consistently .4-.5 range.

Ran a stick shift event a month or so back. Ran decently but just wasn’t right. So I loaded it up, seemed to be running ok.

Got home, went to unload it the next morning and as soon as I fired it up it was idling horribly rough and through a cel.

Rolled it into the garage. Pulled code for bank 2 cal sensor. Pulled sensor and the sensor was broken in half, the magnetic section was down in the timing cover. So I had to pull cover.

Broken jesel, kicked all 3 off them off #5, breaking one of them. All 3 lash adjusters broken on that cyl. Front Cam cap broken. I assume once the followers were kicked it somehow jammed the cam forward, breaking the cap and sending cam reluctor into the sensor breaking that.

But either way, not a huge issues really. Very fixable Minimal cost. So pulled the engine and got it on the stand.

Went a week or two later I had everything ready to start reassembly. Then I found the crack in #1 sleeve. No explanation as to when/why/how it happened. I’ve had zero issues with that bank since this engine was put together.

After seeing that I made the decision to call it quits on heads up racing. I put nothing but the best parts you can buy on this engine. For it to have two major failures in less than one year, I just can’t continue with that.

Here are some pics.

I’ve had a solid run honestly. Just this white car has been nothing but problems. My blue car was flawless, should have kept it.

I’m dropping a stock longblock in the car now. Probably install the S&H stealth single kit.

Bolt up my t56 magnum xl and just enjoy cruising for a while. At least until I decide what my new long term goals for the car are.

Was considering a 7.3 swap but I’m going to take some time and re think what I really want to do with the car.

Yikes, was that the stock liner or an aftermarket sleeve?

Looks like that roller follower just didn't have enough material around the trunion bearing. They typically break where they have the least material according to the reading that I have come across so this looks to be the case.

Stock liner, bored .010 over.

For the money invested in the Jesel followers I was hoping to avoid follower failures. Pretty upset with that.

You mentioned bent valves in another thread. Did they smack a piston? Explains a lot of carnage.

That S&H turbo kit is about the most efficient turbo I’ve seen in terms of power/boost ratio. If I go FI it is between that and a DoB kit
(If you can even find a S&H!)

Yeah I bought the kit I have up just to have. I can’t wait to try it out. It’s super unfortunate I ruined the engine, I was planning to really see what the S&H Kit would do.
