Hey everyone, hope this is the proper place to post

so today I’ve had a shop install a pair of BMR Springs with rear Vi-King Shocks and Koni Shocks up front
This is drag racing suspension but I wanted to know if

1. The loud creaking groaning noise it makes at every turn is normal with a drag set up since it’s stiffer

2. Going past 60 makes the engine almost whine like it’s supercharged now, not that it doesn’t sound good but I’ve never heard of suspension mods ever changing the sound of the engine.

Sorry for long post, Hope someone can help!

i take it that you didnt install an adjustable panhard bar. if not, lowering the car has the rearend shifted to the drivers side, and probably has the lower control arms in a bind due to the housing being shifted.

Not sure which lower control arms you have, as they do several. Mine have grease fittings and are stiff, but quiet. We made sure to put grease on the outer portions of the bushings and on the portion of the bolt that the control arm pivots on.

Okay I’ll check them out and see if I can get them lubed or greased a bit

1. I would say the turning noise is just the harder suspension bushings. Just be sure and keep them greased especially when first installing.
2. I think the weird engine noise is the same thing. The harder bushings will radiate more engine and drivetrain noise. Unless you did something else with the engine, I doubt it is a problem.

Isn't "lubin' the Toobin" the correct term?

Sorry, I digress....

As others have noted, without lube on the poly bushings, they will moan a good bit as the suspension articulates. The poly bushings will need a squirt or two of Super-Lube each year to keep them from drying out.
Also, with a differential bearing, you will get gear whine transmitted into the cabin.

So, was this all that was installed at this time or were there other parts installed at the same time-or other parts previously installed?

This information is required in order to receive proper help.

This was all installed at the same time, panhard rod, upper control arms, shocks, everything that was part of the NVH "Steak and Potatoes" Package

Well, since the package is described as having a side of NVH, sounds like things are normal to me.

Okay, just been making sure, I'm still so new to mods for my car especially on my suspension.

You put a differential bearing in. Did you replace all the rubber on the upper control arm with spherical bearings? Because that will give you some serious gear whine in the cabin.

So is there a way to tighten up the rear suspension without getting the NVH? I personally can't handle engine or suspension noise. That's why I've never run a solid flat tappet can in any of my street cars.

There is a difference between scratching your ass and ripping it wide open. The poly bushing versions of many of the same parts that the OP has on their car are street friendly and do not make what I would consider to be excessive noise, the version of the parts the OP installed are a no-compromise setup geared strictly for racers.

So, there are a lot of options for tightening things up and still keep the fillings in your teeth from falling out. There will be a compromise so depending on your level of tolerance, there should be options available.
