Modern day snake oil. Chips try to "fool" your computer regarding the input it is receiving so that in theory you make more power. You need a real tuner to properly make adjustments to the tune.

Get a proper tune. Been covered many times.

get a SCT handheld and tune from Lito, Lund, or VMP

edit - don’t post multiple threads in the same topic

Ok chile...I'm new at this

C’mon, dude. You would have been flamed in the old days.
Do yourself a favor and read the new members stickies. You’ll enjoy the forum much more.
Search is the key here, we deliberately haze newbs who ask questions without searching first. It protects the integrity of the best S197 tech anywhere. That way you don’t have to dig through 1,000 threads on a question that has been answered already.

This site has prided itself on being fair yet firm on how it's run; new members are encouraged to get in step or they would get destroyed when they posted; it wasn't to be cruel-well, maybe some were lol-but it was to "teach" that the site was here for them to get info, not for the site to pander to how the individual wanted to be treated; it is big boy pants rules on here and if people don't like them, log out and don't come back :)

Is it plug and play

Are you referring to the chip? Just sell it or trash it.
The 4.6 seems to respond more to a cold air intake than the 5.0, but the main performance gain is in the tune.
As stated above, get a SCT tuner and contact a reputable tuner.
I personally use Lito (www.tudyno.com) as do many others here. He will need some info such as pcm serial # and current mods. You will get an email with the tune attached, load it in your tuner, plug it into your obd port and follow the instructions.
Then let the mod addiction begin!

Oh man...thank you for that info. I did not have a clue!

You’re most welcome. Glad to help a fellow Mustang brother out.
I’m sure there are some good threads here on tuning and such. It’s been so long, I just take most of it for granted now lol

Thank you I just got my stang and want to start a build

my :2cents: read, plan and implement. know what your goal is and then set out for it, don't do things in an order that doesn't bring you closer to the goal.
