This illustrates the difference between short-term thinking and long-term thinking.
Short term thinking says "Get the sale today at the highest possible margin and we're done".
Long term thinking says " Let's appreciate the fact that this person bought from us today, and do all we can to make sure his experience with us is good enough that he'll come back again, and hopefully he'll tell his friends and other people on the forum(s) about his positive experience.
