I’m in the process of swapping engines because I blew my 05 4.6L motor I want to upgrade to a 08-09 4.6L because of the whole spark plug issue being fixed but I was wondering if I can install a 10’ 4.6L instead since they’re the same except for the CAI. My question is, can I install a 10’ 4.6L and put my 05’ CAI instead and not need a tune or change ECU?

Yes. The 2010 4.6L 3v engine will work. Just use all the accessories, external engine components, and PCM and wiring harness from your 05'.

As posted above! Yes, it will work. If your "05" 4.6 3v did not have a tune for the CAI? Neither will the 4.6 3v from the "10" As the MAF housing size for the GT "05-10" 4.6 3v motors remained unchanged.

So basically everything is just plug and play as if I were installing a 05-09 4.6L 3v...

You can simply swap in the '10 long block engine and reuse all the ancillaries plus intake/exhaust manifolds from your '05. The only things you'll need to change to the later type are the spark plugs and the coils. If the '10 engine includes the Denso alternator, that would be a handy upgrade to make as the original '05-'08 Motorcraft units aren't the most reliable.
