No sure I'm posting this in the right place, but I guess someone will let me know if I'm not.
Had a run-in with a deer a few nights back. Not too serious- couple of dents in the DS front fender and the headlight mounting is probably busted. First estimate is almost $1700, so I'm thinking of coming out of retirement from body and paint work. Since the paint on my car isn't perfect already, I'm having trouble with the thought of paying my deductible to have new paint on only the bumper and front fender. What I'm leaning toward is fixing the few small dings and blemishes the car has and prepping it for a full paint job.
Looking for the brand and type of paint the factory used on the '06 with D3 Torch Red, also any helpful advice from those who have refinished one of these cars.

If you want the OEM brand and type paint I think you can get that from Ford. I have found the PPG Omni line of products to be user friendly for home shop use. Especially if you are not able to force dry.

I took my 09 p71 to Ford because I wanted to get factory paint too. I was told by the guy up front that there is no factory paint, they source paint from places like DuPont and a few others so there isn’t really a factory paint. It might be cheaper going through one of the big manufacturers directly instead of buying from Ford.

I always head to my local paint store first. The guys are very knowledgeable and they can tell me what the factory used and what the equivalent would be. Besides, the factory doesn't always use the highest quality paint, there might be something better, or easier to spray at home like others have mentioned. Good luck.

To be honest, on a non show car the stuff Summit Racing sells is not that bad. Color won't match the OE perfectly, but if you are painting the whole car it won't matter.
