Greetings from a newbie. Looking to solve a head scratcher. Passenger side kick panel, under the glove box there is a micro push button switch in my '07 GT. Past owners are of no help. Pulled the panel to reveal the wires go up into a multi-plug connector and not to the adjacent fuse box. We were thinking seat warmer but doesn't seem to be so. Pics attached for reference. Anybody seen a similar application? The build was born at Chicane and completed by Danny Bahn who also has no idea what it's for.

Weird place to put a push-button switch.
Let us know once you find out what it does.

+1. Definitely weird.. I see a few splices in that wiring bundle too, what do those go to? Did the car have any aftermarket alarm, stereo, lighting etc.?

Its a valet switch for a car alarm, no idea why its on the passenger side. Well unless thats where the brain is.

I agree... Either a programming button for an alarm or a valet switch for an alarm.

I have a red one on the driver's side. Same size. It's for the alarm.

From the looks of things someone's done quite a bit of wiring/splicing.

RIP - You will be missed
Any chance it's for popping the trunk lid? These cars never came with an inside trunklid release from Ford, but there used to be a couple of write-ups on how to add that feature as a DIY.

IIRC, most DIY's tied in to the SJB, but that's not the only possible solution given that the relay involved with the trunklid release lives in the engine compartment.

I added a truck release button by simply splicing into the pink wire under the passenger door jam panel. Button and instructions came from AM.

that was my first thought, however, that would have been a simple find once the button was pushed and it's a terrible location for it

Thanks for all the comments and solutions and I'll try to address and keep up with them. No on the trunk lid pop but that's a good thought. The car did have an added aftermarket alarm by the original dealer and DBP also added an ignition lock-out keypad subsequent to that. A valet alarm switch sounds feasible but decidedly hard to reach from the driver side. Still could be it. I'll set it off and try the button. As for the splices..I do know that the car had sequentials added at one point as well as a Pioneer NVX system in addition to the Saleen VI done at Chicane when new. No other lighting or stereo adds as far I as can tell. We can talk about the console cubby toggle switches another time...

Edit: Just now. Button does not silence the alarm. grrr.

My car had a factory custom switch set up in it and So I added a couple wires to one and ran a ground for that little pink/white(?) wire in the passenger sill to activate my trunk release. It's real convenient and I use it constantly.

I would lean toward something to do with the alarm...as in turning it off or something along those lines. I have a '92 5.0L convertible that has an old-school Viper alarm system and I have a button similar to that. I also have an indicator light for the alarm. The alarm is set to arm itself automatically 30 seconds after the doors are closed. If I push and hold that button for 3 seconds or longer, the alarm disengages and the light stays lit up indicating that the alarm is inactive. I do this if I am working on the car and repeatedly in and out. To re-engage it, I just press and hold for a few seconds until the indicator light goes out and then it is back to its default of automatically activating.

Could be it an alarm switch, granted not convenient, was put on passenger side as car thieves would be looking for alarm/ kill switch on the drivers side. Just a thought.

Thanks again guys for the input. I set off the alarm with the fob and pressed the button without stopping the alarm. Think maybe 1) this set-up was disconnected when the interlock keypad was installed or 2) there's another way to arm/disarm with the button itself...
