This one is from a company called Big Ass Fans. It's 14 feet diameter, but the blades can be trimmed down if needed. The blades are actually wing shaped. One of the coolest things I've found about it, the fan weighs like 63 lbs at rest and only 46 at full speed. It actually generates it's own lift and lightens at full speed.

Unfortunately they also have a big ass price tag. LOL!! They're like $3500 bucks. If your shop was insulated you could put in an AC unit for basically that much.

But generating lift is kind cool.

I have found a few 7 footers that are like $450. I could put a couple of those in my barn.

Luckily, this one cost me $0
I would not have one hanging there if I had to purchase it. The shop was climate controlled before, but most of the building is not insulated, so I unhooked it from that room. The only space left climate controlled is my wife's tack/feed room for her horses and the workout room.

Note to self. Next time make doors open in  (I had them switch to open out during build, as I figured I might have something large in way of door here and there). Snow ripped off my light over the door too. Really have to build some kind of porch canopy over that door.

Wow! Snow slide off the roof? If that's an emergency exit, that's really not good.

People have been killed by ice sliding off metal roofs.

Damn cool garages! I'd love to have one of those BAF's but I have all my cord reels, etc. hanging from the ceiling, can't have your cake and eat it too I guess! Put my new shop up last summer, looking to possibly add AC this summer, we shall see, I know that won't be cheap.

I have 5 large doors from 10 X 10 to 11 x 14 (on both gable ends), so not really a problem to get out from almost anywhere. Also have another man door on other side, as sun hits that side all the time, so snow is minimal quickly.

Im purchasing a new toy for the garage and will get it in next week. Actually is a mill from my former employer that was auctioned off before the shutting of the doors.
Purchaser passed away early this year and family is looking to get rid of it, coming at a good deal i couldnt pass up. Comes with everything attached.

Just need to get it moved, have a guy with a tractor offering up service to help relocate it to my garage. Also need to drop an outlet for the 240v single phase motor, need more outlets for the DRO, power feeds, a nice personal fan etc.

Bridgeport multi axis mills are top notch and this one is nicely accessorized.
Great score and addition to any garage. Congrats!

yup, and I am in a machining program since my employer shitcanned all of us.

Legit cannot wait to get it at the house to play with it. Will be re-routing the wires and such, cleaning up what I find i need to do. Will for sure be getting a quill DRO for it, potentially a cheap addon Knee DRO.
