Last night I logged back in here for the first time in I think about 7-8 years.. glad to be back.. I currently have a ‘16 GT Premium and with the current state of things I got a great offer on trade in.. probably the first time in history I’ve ever was offered more than payoff lol. The car I found is a 12 GT500 with 12k miles. Black with stripe delete. Without a break down of its factory options such as gearing and so on... is there any relationship to having one option that automatically includes others? It has recaro seats.. I was mainly curious about whether it has 3.55 or 3.73s. It’s not deal breaker in either case but I was curious. I’ll find out soon anyhow but just researching over the weekend. It comes with two sets of wheels. It currently has some Shelby razor wheels on it and I assume the second set is the stockers... anyhow, if there’s no hiccups in the process, looks like I’ll be rejoining the S197 platform clan..

No big plans for it. Pulley, tune, cold air, and an axle back will probably be the thick of it.

the S550 is a great car but I guess I still prefer the SRA for multiple reasons. Yeah they ride like a truck but suspension parts are cheaper, wheel hop isn’t as chronic problem as it is with IRS.. besides, once the AC went on the fritz on my 16 it left a bad taste in my mouth. It was fixed under warranty and a common issue with them.. plus the MT82 is not great lol.

Anyhow, any pointers, suggestions, tips, and advice is welcomed.

IIRC, the "07-14" GT500 cars all had 3:31 gear ratios standard. Perhaps their was an optional 3:55-3:73 gear ratio, but don't know for certain. Maybe others can chime in that can confirm one way or the other? Meanwhile, welcome back to the S197 clan :waytogo:

Recaros were a standalone option in 2012. As for the SVTPP, not sure if this helps but this is from an old Motor Authority article:

New for the 2011 Shelby GT500 is the SVT Performance Package geared toward true performance enthusiasts wanting more out of their already potent 550 horsepower muscle car. The SVT Performance Package includes 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged aluminum wheels which are lighter, all-new Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G tires, 3.73 rear axle gear, stiffer springs, performance shocks that are painted red, lowered ride height (11 millimeters in front and 8 millimeters in rear), rear spoiler with Gurney Flap, narrower over-the-top stripes and removal of stripe from shift ball."

I went ahead and pulled a carfax on it.. it’s a 1 owner car which is a big plus. I’ll find out more on it today. From that list of items.. the only thing I can tell from the photos is that the shift ball has no stripes... being it’s advertised to come with two sets of wheels, I assume the set not on the car is the original wheels.

access to window stickers used to be easier but I guess being it’s an older car.. the access online isn’t there had it been just a couple of years old..

So what is the deal? My guess it's $25,000 for your car against $50,000 for theirs but who knows?

Well I’m goin to get it this week... they were asking 44k and they pretty much gave me payoff on my car.. thinking about taking off tomorrow from work to make the trek.. this is the extra wheels (stock) that come with it.. which I never was a huge fan of razors much less chrome ones..

It’s not the deal of the decade but a pretty good one for a one owner car.. older man traded it in on a Jeep Gladiator for his wife..

Back when I had my 08 GT (hence the username here) it had satellite radio... does the nav equipped models automatically come with it or is that just an independent option?

The salesman is gonna get a photo of the door tag for me.. 3.73s would be a nice perk but worse case the much taller stock option wouldn’t be terrible either..

Nice car, I’d have taken those chrome Shelby rims off your hands if I hadn’t just bought tires! GT500 is still on my bucket list for one day..
