While doing a bit of maintenance before putting on new rims (replacing wheel studs after a couple broke, new brake pads and discs, etc) I decided I also wanted to paint my calipers. I noticed the brake fluid was dirty, so I figured I was in for a full flush and bleed anyways, so I just took the calipers off completely to make painting easier. I called the dealership to order new crush washers but was told the only way they could replace them was with new calipers, and they could not sell them individually. That wasn't a problem with my Aviator when I had to replace those, so do I not need new crush washers, or is this a case where I'm going to have to match them up with 3rd party replacements?

You mean the copper washers for the banjo bolts? I would hit up napa or autozone and see if the "help" section has anything like that. You know, that rotating stand with all the odd ball parts on it.

To update, I tried to take one of the washers off in order to take it with me to a hardware store and buy replacements, but the threads on the banjo bolt are bigger than the washer and I cannot remove it without cutting the washer.

Unscrew it from the washer. It's crushed and the opening got smaller. It is soft metal, won't hurt the banjo bolt.

heat up with mapp torch until cherry red it will re anneal the washer, cooling is immaterial so you can quench or let cool in air, bang new washers.

The size is pretty standard. The banjo bolts don't cost that much either. If getting the old ones off is an issue just buy both. Should be available online or any auto parts store. I'd say $10-15 for everything you need at most.
