Nice car, I’d have taken those chrome Shelby rims off your hands if I hadn’t just bought tires! GT500 is still on my bucket list for one day..

What I’m probably gonna do is put new tires on the stock wheels and sell the chromes with tires.. I’m only one state over if something changes lol

Even junkyards want $6000 for those seats.

They're obviously out of their fucking minds, as nobody in their right mind would pay $6000 for used Recaro seats, let alone from a junkyard :laughlots:

Hell, they can be had on flea-bay for $3000

Welp, I’m now the proud owner of a 2012 Shelby GT500

It’s a 3.73 car per the BB axle code on the door tag..

Congrats on your 2012 Shelby GT500, she's a real head tuner that looks absolutely stunning. Meanwhile, also thanks for sharing images as well :waytogo:

Even the engines range between $3000 to $6000 so why not those Recaro seats?

Because Recaro seats list for an additional $1595 on a brand new 2015 GT Premium, that's why! There are no fucking seats worth paying $3000-$6000 for. I don't give a shit who their made by.. I suggest you look over the attached links provided below:laughlots:

Your the one that said $3000. The ones you posted for $1500 are not street legal with airbags. I am not sure you can even buy from a Ford dealer a replacement Recaro seat with airbags. I know about this because I wanted Dealer Installed Recaro seats at one time. That would be something I would do for $1500. The quote was for $6000.

That's right! I was the one who said $3000 and I also said they were listed on e-bay.. Does that mean I would pay $3000-$6000 for used Recaro seats that were a factory option? Hell no, I wouldn't pay that much even if they were still brand new. I'm also quite certain they didn't cost $3000-$6000 when ordered as an option, to begin with from Ford either lol.

And if you had actually read the top link attached? The $1595 price was in fact the cost for the optional Recaro seat package thru Ford for a 2015 Mustang GT premium!

and NOT "Dealer Installed Seats" with Airbags. It's the same for Cameros although you get Recaros plus full leather everywhere for $1599. If a dealer would install them, they are $6000. Sitting on the lot or ordered car, it's an extra $1599 or so on the sticker. Not in the car when you see it at the showroom, the dealer may or may not install them for $6000.

Ford doesn't sell complete seats. You have to order piece by piece.
I've been through this as a Ford service advisor when I had a customer that needed seats for their vandalized van.
Stupid money to do it that way.
I can totally see it being over $6,000 for 2 new Recaros ordered that way.

I remember looking up for my '13 cloth Recaros just the plastic inserts that go in the upper part of the seat, supposedly for racing harness to go through. Those little inserts were a few hundred dollars for each seat.

Either way, I just cannot justify Recaro seats costing $6000 even when dealer installed including airbags. And I definitely cannot justify paying even $3000 for a used pair from a junkyard, e-bay or whomever, let alone $6000. But if that's what factory replacement Recaro's cost? then it is what it is

Yeah $6000 is way high, but $1595 is low for the pair in good condition.

$6000 is definitely way too high for used Recaro's Perhaps $2000 for a used pair in really good condition would be more acceptable IMHO.

I definitely agree Gabe, it is stupid money to do it that way, no doubt.

Even aftermarket is about $1500 per seat without airbags which can't be used on the street.

I hear ya.. Mine are not chrome, they are more like a dark grey metallic... I never much cared for chrome really. The only thing that is kinda like chrome on my car is the Kenne Bell and its polished.. I do love the Shelby wheels though!

Bad ass purchase, makes me want a GT500. Especially once you get rid of those chromies and go back to the excellent stock wheels!
