My car started and idled, but had no throttle and had an engine light on. I scanned it with the SCT4, and it showed code P2104, which is related to the tps on the throttle body. So instead of messing with that, I just bought a new Ford Performance stock replacement TB from AM.

Put it in, cleaned the maf, did the idle relearn and throttle relearn, and cleared the code. Ran great for week, no issues or lag. Then this morning I start it, same thing happens-no throttle. Now just the wrench light is on. I haven’t scanned it again yet because I had to get to work, but does anyone have any ideas?

gotcha, that eliminates my thought of the TB actuator motor being the most likely culprit

Is there a specific under hood fuse associated with the throttle to TB electronics? Is it #47?

Alternator seems to be charging fine. No dipping or spiking. It was replaced 3 yrs ago.

Those OBD II code websites are so generic because it’s meant to apply to all cars. Could be anything according to them. From what I’ve been reading, in regards to the S197, that code and those symptoms mostly refer to the TB electronics.

Anyway, it started up and the throttle worked when I got home (although the engine light was on now instead of the wrench). I cleared the code, disconnected the battery for 20 min, and checked all the connections. The one on the right by the TB blade motor doesn’t have a nice “positive click”, but it seems on tight enough.

Started up again, no light, running ok. Maybe I’ll just bring to my mechanic to verify if it’s a faulty TB, or something else.
