Wider 07 OEM Wheels?

Howdy fellas, I have a base 07 S197. Since the car doesn't have ABS or TCS, I was looking at wider rims, specifically in the rear, to get more traction. My current wheels are 16" × 7", and they aren't cutting it. I've heard 18" × 10" is the way to go, but I don't want to fiddle with modding fenders or adjusting ride height just yet.
I know it's a long shot that Ford has a wider version of the same rim, but I'm in a spot right now where I don't really want to buy front rims if I don't have to. If there isn't an OEM split 5 spoke option, I'm also open to a budget minded set of rims that meets my goals.

I found a good price on 2016 OEM Mustang rims with tire size 255/40ZR19 100W. I'm looking online and these appear to have a rim size of 10/19. Will these fit?

I'd get 18x8.5 factory GT wheels from 05-09, lotta style options and 8.5" can run a 255 tire. That's all your V6 needs. 10" and 300+ tires would be overkill

Widest not Shelby rim that is OEM was 8.5 IIRC

Shelby models had 9.5”. So you’re likely looking at non OEM

I got a deal on some 18/9.5 front wheels and 18/11 rear rims. Off the top of your heads how much do you think I can expect to spend on a half decent set of tires?

I have the same width in 20’s and I think I paid around $800 for some nitto’s with mounting and balancing at discount tire. I’m sure there are plenty of cheaper options

Really depends on brand choice. Could be anywhere from $600-2000

11" is tricky to fit unless the offset is spot-on.
Do you know the rest of the specs?

Great size wheel, the tires make all the difference. Found the Legend 5 to be affordable and spot on.

What is the offset for the fronts....and also the rears ??? Screw this part up, and you will have a bad day. 9" wide rims typ have a 30mm offset. A 9.5" wide rim will typ have a 35-36mm offset. A 10" rim typ has 42-45-48mm offset. A 11" wide rim is where u gotta be careful. Typ offsets are 52-59 mm.

The MORE the offset, (higher numbers), the MORE inboard the tire will reside. The lower the offset, the more OUTBOARD the tire will reside. With too little offset on 11" rims, they will stick out past the fenders on the rear. Too great an offset, and you may have fitment issues.... like rubbing against the plastic covers on the rear shocks...an / or rubbing against the oem factory lifting fixture ( the tab that sticks out with the hole in it). That tab can always be easily cut off. The protective boot on the rear shocks can also be cut off.

If the wheel / tire assy resides inboard too much, you can install correct sized rear spacers..( up to maybe 3mm max, any thicker, and you require longer rear studs). However, it the wheel / tire assy resides too far outboard, you are screwed, doa.

A 11" rear rim will handle a 305 or 315 wide tire...and maybe a 325mm.
A 9.5" with a 255 tire results in 255 that's stretched a full inch..which is a bit much imo. A 275mm front would be a better fit.

Get the rears too wide vs the fronts..and the car will have a tendency to understeer, something to be aware of. IE: 315 rear + 255 front. A 315 rear + 275 front would work. With more total rubber on the road front + back, it's not gonna lock up anyway.

I’m on 20x11 +50mm rear and I sit great, but only running 285’s. Didn’t want to go too wide and it poke. I’ll be going 295 or 305 next. 090A1CF4-16AC-4D0A-8EE3-85E9E00AF806.jpeg

Here's your only option for OEM, split 5 spoke wheels. They are 18 x 8.5 and fit a 255/45 tire nicely.
