Lighten up Francis. We have a specific way of doing things here. The classifieds rules are for the group protection. There have been scammers in the history of mankind (and even on Facebook [emoji33]). Nothing personal, we are a close knit community and try to make sure we have each other’s back, that’s all. And your back too if you stick around and let us get to know you before trying to buy/sell.
Best tech anywhere for the S197

BTW, I have a NIB set but they are not for sale, sorry [emoji52]

Would you walk into a garage of guys you don't know and just walk over to the fridge and take a beer?

Hang out. Talk a little shit. Race some benches. You will be offered a beer. And you'll find a great bunch of guys that can fight like brothers but still respect differences. And the tech...second to none.

Whew!! My first experience with any forum site aaand these mentioned "sticky threaded postals" sound a bit freaky weird to me. I think I'll tip toe out of this fraternity before I find out the deep dark secret of what they are... sorry dudes

I've read the rules, but can't figure out what the necessary required post limit is, for being allowed to post in the WTB section. I WTB!!!

LOL!!!!! No one will tell you how many posts and/or how much time you have to have to spend here to post in this part of the forum. Nobody really knows except for Dave. And he ain't telling.

You joined months ago and have one post. One would think you have been reading. This whole process is to help protect the members from scammers, not saying you are. It's just a way to make it harder and less worth their time to scam here.

We want you to be a contributing part of this community. I’ve known some of these guys for years, even met several of the over the years.
There are plenty of places you CAN post, except the classifieds!
Tell us “What has made your day” or “What has pissed you off” or “what you did to your Mustang today”, then try to buy or sell something.

To the new members, I thought the same thing...

I have been reading this and other forums for years but never became a member or participated. Way too busy and have several other interest.

My 06' GT Convertible was totaled a year ago and I had a bunch of quality new and used parts in my warehouse. So I joined this forum and wanted to only sell parts... there is a limit number of posts required until they allow you to sell stuff. I thought that was draconian too, but heck I will play along, for a while...

After participating and learning some new things and even providing some input on certain topics I was able to post in the parts section. For the most part, it's a good forum and a positive experience for me. I am a "car guy" and own several vehicles, mostly Mustang so the environment lends itself to interesting discussions. For what it's worth, there is some knowledgeable members here that you won't find anyplace else.

If that's not for you, I get it and its OK... try selling on eBay, OfferUp, Craigs List, FB classifieds, etc.

Bye the way, I know what the number of posts are, but sworn to secrecy! ;)

The second post in this WTB sticky thread includes the following statement:

We implemented some new rules to help protect the members from scammers. There is now two requirements that have to be met that will happen over time by being an active member, then the system automatically gives you the ability to post in the classifieds. Like I said, it's just put in place to give new members time to build credibility with the other members before trying to sell parts. You will still be able to post in the WTB area if you are looking for a part.

The third sentence quoted above puts the posting restriction in specifically in context of "selling" parts.

Given that I currently cannot post a WTB thread in this forum ("You have insufficient privileges to post here"), can someone help me understand what the last sentence means in the excerpt above?

Thank you for doing whatever you did to enable permissioning for me to post my "want to buy" thread; greatly appreciated.
