Hoping my 08 gt premium will go 11’s this Wednesday night (11.70’s) just wondering what everyone thought. I just got the car earlier this year and have been busy trying to make it keep up with the newer cars on the road. A few weeks back the car ran a 12.86 @ 111mph with a crappy 2.289 60ft since then I’ve added a few things.
The 12.86 was ran with the following mods: JLT cold air
Sr underdrive pulleys
Twin 60mm gt500 tb with bbr spacer
3” exhaust h pipe cat/muffler delete
4.10 gears
285/35/19 mt et streets
Lito tune
Car is a manual 5 speed
Since then I’ve added
Pacesetter longtubes
Ford racing intake
Howard rattler cams
Double adjustable lower control arms
Relocation brackets for the lowers
Adjustable upper with mount
Poly rear end bushing
Bmr panhard bar
Zex nitrous wet kit 100 shot Lito tune
Btw the car is lowered 1.5” that’s why I got the relocation brackets for the lowers. Car is also full weight minus spare and such. Almost 0 elevation at the local track pretty much sea level humidity usually 60% or more. Also wanted to ask what everyone thought about the Ford racing manifold. I see a lot of ppl saying it kills too much low end torque but other claim it’s worth it for the top end hp gain. The car isn’t necessarily a daily driver but it’s driven almost daily if that makes sense. I went with the rattler cams over the other because it looks like it’ll be pretty good when the car is on the bottle. Anyways ima quit rambling and thanks in advance for any advice.

Your lack of traction at the launch is your biggest obstacle IMO. Cams won't fix your 60' times. Without any further info, I'd say your two biggest shortfalls are
1. suspension
2. driver
or 3. a combination of 1 and 2.

Things have really changed. Watch a restoration of a top of the line 1969 big block on TV. It was damaged in a drag race at a drag strip in 1971 and parked. It went sideways in a guardrail that damaged the whole drivers side. They showed the old time slips. All in the 13.50 range.

Well it was completely stock suspension when I ran it n/a and got the 2.2 60ft time. I’ve since added the adjustable lowers and relocation brackets, adjustable upper with the poly rear end bushing and a stiffer panhard bar. Hoping that will help with that 60ft. I’ve been playing around on the street and I’ve got it hooking pretty good as long as I stay off the nitrous till the top of 1st. Pretty much just getting it rolling then sticking it. I was hoping to make it to the track tonight honestly but other stuff came up so it’s going to be another week till I can see

I installed a MSD 2 step and it helped me get consistent 1.5 60s. Made it much easier to find the correct launch rpm and tire pressure for the track conditions.

Basically what he said. You could also temporarily remove the front sway bar end links for a run down the strip to aid weight transfer to the rear.
The Ford Performance intake manifold will have the following effects:

1. HP/TQ gains from ~5200rpm upwards.
2. HP/TQ losses between ~3300-5200rpm.
3. Below ~3300rpm, HP/TQ gains and losses at various rpm but on average about even.

If your engine's rev limit is 6500rpm, that's a window of only 1300rpm where you'll see any performance benefit.

Still working out the tune waiting on Lito to send my revised tune for the cams and intake changes. Not sure what he will set the rev limiter at but I’m sure it wouldn’t be much more than 6500 if any. I know the intake wasn’t going to be much help but I kinda bought it without looking into it wasn’t till after I got it I seen it really wasn’t going to help. But I’ve got $700ish invested into it so ima use it as long as it doesn’t kill too much power down low. It for sure looks good under the hood if nothing else lol. Currently looking for another shortblock to throw some forged internals in and eventually go with a centrifugal supercharger or turbo so if nothing else the intake will come in handy in that setup but that’s going to be a little while. Just hoping to get her into the 11’s on nitrous and run that till I get a motor built to hold a good bit more power.
