I would like to see a picture of that. I was told that in 2014 all electronics of the PCM go through the radio and radios are not interchangeable without a reprogramming. I got this info from a Ford dealership in the Washington DC area and about 1/2 the junkyards in the USA looking for a Track Apps Cluster.

Picture of what? The aftermarket radio in the car?

Let me say this again

I was told both my a Ford dealer and more then several junkyards the PCM goes through the radio and radios are not interchangeable. One junkyard in mid PA said for sure the rear lights will not work so it's a safety issue. Let me make this clear. I hope this is not true. The Ford dealer wanted $1000 to add Sirus. The mid PA junkyard refused to sell me a Shaker radio. I know, lots of misinformation. This goes along with the Track Apps Cluster upgrade. Don't even talk to a Ford dealer about that.

All you need is a t-harness and module from idatalink and dash kit to install aftermarket stereo. Kit I have installed hvac is controlled through the radio some have separate buttons built into the trim bezel. I can post pic of the aftermarket radio installed and some of the features all the steering wheel controls and aux still work. If you want to go aftermarket I don't know about swapping out factory radios.

I take it someone else did the work.

Yes but car audio installs are very easy just not always cheap lol.

This whole issue, your asking about a stock radio for a Mustang. I suggest you check with the junk yards and see what they say about pulling a radio out of a damaged 2014 Mustang. If they sell you one, your good to go or maybe not. I would loved to have that Shaker radio out of that 2014 Premium Mustang GT with Sirus and all. Junkyard guy said no deal because of safety. Would not even give me a price.

I love my aftermarket hu able to use better aftermarket amps to power speakers and my subs. I was just wondering about factory radio just in case I ever get rid of the car down the road since my car already had aftermarket installed when I got it and no way to contact the previous owner and they probably got rid of the stock radio a long time ago.

Notice no one else is saying anything. Maybe you should change the subject to a cam change. You will NEVER be going back to stock on the radio if junkyards have their way. It's an issue of safety.

Are you thinking because it's the last of the S197's, it may have value down the road? Unless it's an ultra low mileage garage queen (say under 10K) and a GT500 or similar, you are very likely past the point of worrying about the value added due to a radio. Just enjoy it and put the money towards something fun! :)

I think most people want a stock vehicle when they purchase that's why I was looking at finding factory radio. I love my kenwood hu I have now.

An upgraded (professionally looking) HU will improve the desirability and possibly bump the value on a sports car. Louder is better inside, and out!
