Started out fixing my driver side power seat switch, pulled it, cleaned it, got it to move forward again. The front clip the holds the side pan on broke while snapping back in place......[emoji2959] Ford plastic and me don't do so well. Is to add insult to injury snapped a little plastic cap back on the switch and it stopped working. I will just buy one on Amazon....200.00 for a new Ford one is crazy. Now I will have to also find the side skirt on the seat as well. Lightly pulling is not the answer, push in and lift up looks like it would have worked better..idk...also need a passenger rear seat belt latch...this one will not stay buckled. It was used once in 07 and never again until I we had kids. I have taken apart a couple times but only latches the first time. No idea why.

Also just prepping the car for my track day on October. Couple parts to install and finish the tune.

I have a rear seat buckle somewhere in my garage if you want it. Should be good as I don't think it has ever been used. Just gotta find it. Send me your address if you want me to send it to you.

It's been that kind of year. I have had mine out a lot less then last year. Sad but getting close to putting it away for the winter, unless we have several very nice days... still early we will see.

The rear axle job is back on hold for a couple of days, so I decided to tackle one of the other little tasks.

Some time ago I'd pulled part of the interior trim and carpeting up due to the water leak. Today I started putting that stuff back in. It took a while to figure out where the passenger side seatbelt wire connected to the harness, and it's not shown in the CD-ROM version of the FSM. Took some more time to find the push-pins, which I knew I'd saved somewhere.

Had my son swap out the replacement wiper blades i picked up a few days ago. With a folded towel placed on the glass under the potential impact point, of course [emoji16]

Love passing on these little life skills that don't include tapping or typing.

Hey Norm, I know you’ve posted it before, but what spring rates do you run on the rear of your S197?

220 lb/in

They're the BMR GT500 Handling Springs (20 lb/in stiffer than BMR's non-GT500 rear springs). I got them as part of the #SP-072 kit but they are #SP-074 for the rears alone.

They also dropped the rear of my car by about 1" vs the advertised 1.5", presumably due to the difference in GT vs GT500 car weight. I've since taken most of that 1" drop back out for axle roll steer reasons, so the rear of my car is almost all the way back to its stock height.

Ordered strange adjustable front struts for my 2009 that i have been putting together as a street/strip car. Also picked up some more Bogart D10 wheels for it. Now have an extra set of rear wheels. The front wheels i received unfortunately were on a car that had aerospace brakes, so the pad height is wrong and is hitting the caliper. I guess i will be shipping them back to Bogart to get that corrected...

Is your car still at stock weight? By raising back up, what is your expectation, promote roll steer or eliminate it?

My car weighs 3290 pounds with a 1/4 tank of fuel. My rear springs are 225# coil-overs. It seems a little stiff in the rear. I’m considering going to the 175# springs that I had on the car before. They are Steeda sports that just happen to be the same dia. and length of the 225s.

It handles well as it is, but traction off the corner is far from optimum. I’m wondering if it’s from lack of weight transfer.

Stock weight, whatever that was. I've never got it weighed but I haven't made any changes that affected the weight by more than a few lbs or so.

Roll steer is something that is always there, and whether it's understeerish or oversteerish depends on rear ride height as that affects both LCA inclination and PHB mid-height. At 1" lowering (no relo brackets), roll steer was about 6.5% understeerish. That compares to about 1% understeerish at stock ride height, and about 2% understeerish at its new ride height (1/4" down from stock).

The intention is to get back some of the lift-throttle turn-in response I was getting while tracking the car on its OE springs, without going all the way into oversteerish roll steer at static ride height (what relo brackets would have caused). I won't be getting it all back with the stiffer springs, because the rear will not rise up as far as it did before. As the rear rises up, roll steer goes less understeerish, toward and likely into being momentarily oversteerish until you get back to maintenance throttle.

It's not the lack of rearward load transfer - that happens anyway. But it may be happening too suddenly, or maybe you're getting into the throttle a little too early. How much rear sta-bar are you running? Any LCA relo brackets?

You're also running quite a bit more power than I am, and with deeper gearing and a lighter flywheel, so throttle modulation for your car may demand a softer touch.

Off throttle turn in, is that completely off the brakes before turn-in?
I ask as I tend to keep some brake pressure as I turn in (trail brake).

In preparation for our looming transition from fall to winter, where the Bullitt goes into hibernation, installed the Noco battery maintainer I bought earlier this year. Saw it on Amazon Prime Day and thought it was pretty cool...mounts under hood.
