So long story short, on my swap for my 2007 I was going to run my stock sending unit with a return bung, I did that but the fuel pump i bought as way to big for the housing and wiring it would have been a little ghetto. I bought a deatschwerks sending unit since its convenient for aftermarket use, and somehow it doesnt fit but it seemed like the internet was certain that 05-09 tanks were the same as 11-14.

So basically between the pump and the sending unit I'm pretty deep in debt with no solution, its the only thing holding up the project from being done. The sending unit might fit if it was modified but I'm not sure if thats a good idea, I thought about returning it but it seems like they dont do returns. Not really sure where to go from here to make this work, all the 05-09 setups are limited and expensive (Like $1000). Only solution I can think of is maybe putting an 11-14 tank in the car? Might be the best thing to go for.

By sending unit, are you talking about the gauge sending unit or are you talking about the fuel hat? Or something else altogether?

For my LS swap I added a return https://www.instagram.com/p/CNQwDaeFCCV/ I had to modify the venturi valve to utilize the 2nd half of the tank that's what the bit of hose is for

Not sure how the coyote fuel system is setup, I thought it was a return style though I could be wrong

Stock coyote is returnless. The control pack says to convert to return style fuel system, which is misleading.
You can run either style, just need to make minor changes in the tune. (fixed fuel pressure - return style, variable for returnless)
Both methods vary fuel pressure, just different in how. (Vacuum vs pump control)

DW400 fits just fine and is made as an upgrade pump for the stock hat.

Just updating anyone that see's this but I ended up swapping an 11-14 tank in the car to fully utilize the 11-22 mustang aftermarket for fueling upgrades. Worked out the best.

Dang, I just used an 05-09 upgraded pump and made it return style with a Vette filter

I never touched the tank/pump. Left it returnless. Has been working flawlessly.

Still not running yet, but we opted to keep the 06 tank and installed a GT500 pump assembly.
We have a 2013 boss fuel tank with pump assembly (should be same as 2011-2014) in Florida if anyone is interested.

I only ran the 11-14 because it meant less drilling and other modification to the fuel hat or buying some of the expensive fuel assemblies aftermarket. Better parts binning for it overall and it no longer requires removing the axle to take out the tank, it is slimmer than an 05-09 tank and easier to access. Vette filter was fine for getting it running but I run into issues with the inferred fuel pressure values not actually being accurate at the rail, so plan on getting a real adjustable regulator so tuning is easier and more dialed in.
